The Fisher-Rao metric for projective transformations of the line [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
A conditional probability density function is defined for measurements arising from a projective transformation of the line. The conditional density is a member of a parameterised family of densities in which the parameter takes values in the three ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

PARTICLE MOTION OVER THE EDGE OF AN INCLINED PLANE THAT PERFORMS AXIAL MOVEMENT IN A VERTICAL LIMITING CYLINDER

open access: yesActa Polytechnica, 2019
Differential equations of a relative material particle motion over the edge of an inclined flat ellipse that rotates around the axis of a vertical limiting cylinder have been deduced. The position of a plane relative to the axis of the rotation is set by

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Foraging behaviour of honeybees (Apis spp.) (Hymenoptera: Apidae) in hybrid seed production of Indian mustard (Brassica juncea)

open access: yesThe Indian Journal of Agricultural Sciences, 2014
Pollination of entomophilous crops by honeybees is considered as one of the effective and inexpensive method for improving the crop yield and its quality. In most of the crops, effective pollination is prerequisite for fruitful fertilisation.

Planar quadrature RF transceiver design using common-mode differential-mode (CMDM) transmission line method for 7T MR imaging. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
The use of quadrature RF magnetic fields has been demonstrated to be an efficient method to reduce transmit power and to increase the signal-to-noise (SNR) in magnetic resonance (MR) imaging. The goal of this project was to develop a new method using the

Automatic PCB Layout Optimization of a DC-DC Converter Through Genetic Algorithm Regarding EMC Constraints

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
This paper proposes an optimization approach for an automatic buck converter printed circuit board (PCB) design regarding the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) constraints.

Short-length routes in low-cost networks via Poisson line patterns [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
In designing a network to link n points in a square of area n, we might be guided by the following two desiderata. First, the total network length should not be much greater than the length of the shortest network connecting all points.

Timelike line congruences via surface theory in Minkowski 3-space

open access: yesAIP Advances
Line congruences are crucial in classical geometry, particularly in relating one surface to another through families of lines. These correspondences are most valuable when they preserve key geometric features of the original surface.
