We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

A Balanced Substrate Integrated Waveguide Phase Shifter with Wideband Common-Mode Suppression
In this paper, a slotted substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) is used to create a balanced phase shifter with wideband common-mode (CM) suppression. Differential-mode (DM) impedance matching and CM suppression are achieved by utilizing the fact that TE20

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Long-haul few mode fiber optic link with differential mode delay compensation [PDF]
Abstract This paper present results of simulation of the few mode fiber optic link with the differential mode delay compensation. There were considered some variants of compensation of differential mode delay including differential mode delay compensation together chromatic dispersion compensation on line optical amplifiers and ...

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Heterogeneous trench-assisted few-mode multi-core fiber with low differential mode delay
We propose a kind of heterogeneous multi-core fiber (Hetero-MCF) with trench-assisted multi-step index few-mode core (TA-MSI-FMC) deployed inside. After analyzing the impact of each parameter on differential mode delay (DMD), we design a couple of TA-MSI-FMCs with A(eff) of 110 μm2 for LP01 mode.
