Braking and cornering studies on an air cushion landing system [PDF]

open access: yes
An experimental investigation was conducted to evaluate several concepts for braking and steering a vehicle equipped with an air cushion landing system (ACLS). The investigation made use of a modified airboat equipped with an ACLS.

Optimal control of the state statistics for a linear stochastic system

open access: yes, 2015
We consider a variant of the classical linear quadratic Gaussian regulator (LQG) in which penalties on the endpoint state are replaced by the specification of the terminal state distribution.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

A New Control Strategy for an Electronic Differential System for Urban Electric Vehicles

open access: yesInventions, 2018
This paper presents a control strategy that is applied in turning control for decentralized electric vehicles known as the electronic differential system. The conventional mechanical differential has drawbacks, such as bulkiness and slow response.

Nilpotent Bases for a Class of Non-Integrable Distributions with Applications to Trajectory Generation for Nonholonomic Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
This paper develops a constructive method for finding a nilpotent basis for a special class of smooth nonholonomic distributions. The main tool is the use of the Goursat normal form theorem which arises in the study of exterior differential systems.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Non-Lipschitz points and the SBV regularity of the minimum time function

open access: yes, 2012
This paper is devoted to the study of the Hausdorff dimension of the singular set of the minimum time function $T$ under controllability conditions which do not imply the Lipschitz continuity of $T$.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Differential folding steering control strategy of mining vehicle articulated system based on multi-loop nesting

open access: yesMeitan xuebao
There is a hysteresis of articulated vehicles when they follow the folding motion, and their steering characteristics may also show non-linear characteristics under specific operating conditions. To further improve the handling performance of articulated

The correlation between wing kinematics and steering muscle activity in the blowfly Calliphora vicina [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Determining how the motor patterns of the nervous system are converted into the mechanical and behavioral output of the body is a central goal in the study of locomotion.
