Temporal differential adaptation of head-twitch and ear-scratch responses following administration of challenge doses of DOI

Pharmacology Biochemistry and Behavior, 1995
Previously, we reported that administration of the 5-HT2A/C receptor agonist, DOI [(+/-)-1-(2,5-Dimethoxy-4-iodophenyl)-2-aminopropane], can simultaneously produce the head-twitch response (HTR) and the ear-scratch response (ESR) in mice. Our recent studies have indicated that the HTR is a 5-HT2A receptor-mediated phenomenon, whereas the ESR is ...

Differential response of arcuate proopiomelanocortin- and neuropeptide Y-containing neurons to the lesion produced by gold thioglucose administration

The Journal of Comparative Neurology, 2006
The effect of gold thioglucose (GTG) administration on neurons containing feeding-related peptides in the hypothalamic arcuate nucleus was examined in mice. Intraperitoneal GTG injection increased the body weight and produced a hypothalamic lesion that extended from the ventral part of the ventromedial nucleus to the dorsal part of the arcuate nucleus.

Differential neurochemical and behavioral responses induced by contingent and non-contingent heroin administration

2006
In naive rats, passive administration of drugs of abuse preferentially increases extracellular dopamine (DA) levels in the nucleus accumbens (NAc) shell as compared to the core. Repeated exposure to the same drugs results in the induction of behavioral and biochemical sensitization characterized by stereotyped activity and by reduction of the DA shell ...

Differential patterns of response in patients with rheumatoid arthritis following administration of an anti-CD 5 immunoconjugate.

Clinical and experimental rheumatology, 1993
As part of the clinical investigation of a new biologic agent in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) various outcome measures were utilized to evaluate clinical activity in two multicenter open label protocols. These measures included the single criteria of joint tenderness and swelling counts and scores and composite criteria based on the ...
