Atomic Layer Deposition of Highly Conducting NiS2 Thin Films from Elemental Sulfur

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
A simple new atomic layer deposition (ALD) process yields in‐situ crystalline and electrically conducting nickel disulfide thin films. This deposition process is based on two solid and safe precursors, nickel acetylacetonate and elemental sulfur. ABSTRACT A novel atomic layer deposition (ALD) process for highly conducting nickel disulfide thin films is

Predictive alignment system integrating feedforward neural networks with riemann fit for diffraction efficiency enhancement in convex ruling grating

open access: yesResults in Engineering
The spectral resolution and signal-to-noise ratio quality of an Offner imaging spectrometer depend on the quality of convex grating. To address issues in current convex grating ruling processes, including the influence of convex-specific sagitta factors,

Wire Diffraction Gratings

open access: yesThe Physics Teacher, 1973
In the summer of 1972, I attended the workshop on recreating classic experiments in physics at Barnard College.1 This was developed by Samuel Devons, and it was a defining experience that set me toward a research career involving early physics teaching apparatus.

Multimodal Imaging of Strain and Light Emission of Core–Shell InGaN/GaN Wires under a Sub‐Micrometer Polychromatic X‐Ray Probe

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Micro‐Laue diffraction and excited optical X‐ray luminescence are used to study InGaN/GaN core‐shell wires on the BM32 beamline at the European Synchrotron. Multimodal imaging of X‐ray fluorescence, deviatoric strain tensors and optical emissions is performed using simultaneous mapping.

Photonic Crystal Enhanced Microscopy on a 2D Photonic Crystal Surface

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, Volume 10, Issue 6, March 18, 2025.
This work demonstrates the design, fabrication, and the first‐time test of a 2D photonic crystal surface for photonic resonator absorption microscopy. The designed surface uniformly enhances electromagnetic near fields, achieving > 100% improved detecting uniformity for surface‐captured AuNPs from a blocking biosensor assay aimed for detecting SARS‐CoV‐
