Distortion in Diffusion Weighted Imaging

open access: yesJapanese Journal of Radiological Technology, 2009
The definitional equation of the distortion of echo planar imaging(EPI)was examined. We compared measured values with calculated values by using the definitional equation of the chemical shift of the EPI method that first composed the diffusion-weighted image, and examined the possibility of applying it to the distortion.

Adaptaquin is selectively toxic to glioma stem cells through disruption of iron and cholesterol metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.

A Simplified Crossing Fiber Model in Diffusion Weighted Imaging [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Diffusion MRI (dMRI) is a vital source of imaging data for identifying anatomical connections in the living human brain that form the substrate for information transfer between brain regions.

Class IIa HDACs forced degradation allows resensitization of oxaliplatin‐resistant FBXW7‐mutated colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
HDAC4 is degraded by the E3 ligase FBXW7. In colorectal cancer, FBXW7 mutations prevent HDAC4 degradation, leading to oxaliplatin resistance. Forced degradation of HDAC4 using a PROTAC compound restores drug sensitivity by resetting the super‐enhancer landscape, reprogramming the epigenetic state of FBXW7‐mutated cells to resemble oxaliplatin ...

Diagnostic Comparison of MRI Sequences for Assessing Myometrial Invasion in Endometrial Cancer: A 1.5T MRI Study

open access: yesHitit Medical Journal
Objective: To compare the diagnostic accuracy of T2-weighted, dynamic contrast-enhanced imaging, and diffusion-weighted imaging in assessing myometrial invasion depth in endometrial cancer and to determine if any sequence performs better.

Diffusion weighted imaging and diffusion tensor imaging in the evaluation of transplanted kidneys

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Radiology Open, 2015
Objective: The aim of this study is to investigate the relation between renal indexes and functional MRI in a population of kidney transplant recipients who underwent MR with diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) and diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) of the ...

Technical advancements and protocol optimization of diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) in liver [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
An area of rapid advancement in abdominal MRI is diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI). By measuring diffusion properties of water molecules, DWI is capable of non-invasively probing tissue properties and physiology at cellular and macromolecular level.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...
