Reperfusion‐Dependent Outcomes After Endovascular Thrombectomy Stratified by NIHSS‐ASPECTS Clinical‐Core Mismatch

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective This analysis evaluates the effect of successful reperfusion on functional outcomes after MT, stratified by admission National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) and Alberta Stroke Program Early CT Score (ASPECTS) as surrogates for clinical‐core mismatch, using multicenter registry data.

Diagnostic value of diffusion weighted magnetic resonance image in early ankylosing spondylitis

open access: yesThe Egyptian Journal of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, 2014
Background: Diffusion-weighted MRI (DW-MRI) shows the early changes in microscopical movement of water molecules, hence diagnosis of early sacroiliitis which is one of the diagnostic criteria of seronegative spondyloarthropathies. Objective: To determine

Transport of magnetic flux and the vertical structure of accretion discs: II. Vertical profile of the diffusion coefficients

open access: yes, 2012
We investigate the radial transport of magnetic flux in a thin accretion disc, the turbulence being modelled by effective diffusion coefficients (viscosity and resistivity).

A Depolarizing Leak in Sodium Bicarbonate Cotransporter NBCe1 Causes Brain Edema

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives SLC4A4 encodes electrogenic sodium bicarbonate cotransporter NBCe1, prominently expressed in kidney and brain. Recessive loss‐of‐function variants in SLC4A4 cause proximal renal tubular acidosis, no brain edema. In the brain, NBCe1 is expressed by astrocytes, where it regulates pH and mediates astrocyte volume changes.

Giant Intracranial Cavernous Malformations: A Review on Magnetic Resonance Imaging Characteristics

open access: yesIndian Journal of Radiology and Imaging
Background Intracranial cavernous malformations (CMs), commonly known as cavernomas or cavernous angiomas, are low-flow, well-circumscribed vascular lesions composed of sinusoidal spaces lined by a single layer of endothelium and separated by ...

The added value of qualitative and quantitative diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (DW-MRI) in differentiating benign from malignant breast lesions

open access: yesThe Egyptian Journal of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, 2018
Objective: To evaluate the role of diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (DW-MRI) with calculation of the apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) value in characterizing benign and malignant breast lesions.

Diffusion‐Weighted Imaging for the Evaluation of the Sacroiliac Joint in Pediatric Patients

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Maturational signal in the sacroiliac joint (SIJ) of skeletally immature youth is often misinterpreted as inflammation. Diagnostic tools that improve specificity are greatly needed. Apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values from diffusion‐weighted imaging (DWI), when used with standard imaging, may enhance diagnostic accuracy.

MR diffusion imaging in mediastinal masses the differentiation between benign and malignant lesions

open access: yesThe Egyptian Journal of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, 2017
Background: Diffusion-weighted imaging is a fundamental tool integrated in MR protocols useful in differentiating benign from malignant mediastinal masses, assessing mediastinal lymphadenopathy and investigating central bronchogenic carcinoma.

Ideal Molecular Sieving with a Dense MOF for Helium Upgrading with Highly Diffusion Selective Mixed Matrix Membranes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The separation of Helium gas from natural gas is challenging but highly important. MIL‐116(Ga), a “non‐porous” metal–organic framework is used as a molecular sieve to separate He from CH4. Druse‐like MIL‐116(Ga) particles are integrated into polysulfone mixed matrix membranes.
