Due to their potential impact on the host’s phenotype, organ-specific microbiotas are receiving increasing attention in several animal species, including cattle. Specifically, the vaginal microbiota of ruminants is attracting growing interest, due to its

ABSTRACT Introduction Pre‐dilution online hemodiafiltration (Pre‐HDF) is predominantly used in Japan, whereas post‐dilution online HDF (Post‐HDF) is more common in Europe. An asymmetric cellulose triacetate (ATA) membrane may improve biocompatibility.

Arctic regional methane fluxes by ecotope as derived using eddy covariance from a low-flying aircraft [PDF]
The Arctic terrestrial and sub-sea permafrost region contains approximately 30 % of the global carbon stock, and therefore understanding Arctic methane emissions and how they might change with a changing climate is important for quantifying the global

ABSTRACT Introduction Patients requiring long‐term continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) generally have poor prognoses. This study evaluated whether adding continuous intravenous sodium infusion (cIVNa) is associated with improved hemodynamics and outcomes in patients undergoing long‐term CRRT for ≥ 7 days.

Diffusion on diffusing particles
We investigate random walk of a particle constrained on cells, where cells behave as a lattice gas on a two dimensional square lattice. By Monte Carlo simulation, we obtain the mean first passage time of the particle as a function of the density and temperature of the lattice gas. We find that the transportation of the particle becomes anomalously slow

From the diffusion coefficient to the diffusion tensor [PDF]
AbstractWith diffusion tensor MRI one has access to the organization in space of tissue microstructural components. This outstanding potential adds, however, another layer of complexity to the diffusion MRI data acquisition and analysis processes. Over the last few years many articles have been published dealing with those matters.
