Diffusion kurtosis imaging of the human kidney: A feasibility study
Magnetic Resonance Imaging, 2014To assess the feasibility and to optimize imaging parameters of diffusion kurtosis imaging (DKI) in human kidneys. The kidneys of ten healthy volunteers were examined on a clinical 3T MR scanner. For DKI, respiratory triggered EPI sequences were acquired in the coronal plane (3 b-values: 0, 300, 600s/mm(2), 30 diffusion directions).

Parkinson Disease: Diagnostic Utility of Diffusion Kurtosis Imaging
Radiology, 2011To examine the usefulness of diffusion kurtosis imaging for the diagnosis of Parkinson disease (PD).Examinations were performed with the understanding and written consent of each subject, with local ethics committee approval, and in compliance with national legislation and Declaration of Helsinki guidelines.

Simulation Study of Kurtosis Measurements in MR Diffusion Kurtosis Imaging
2010Monte Carlo simulation was performed in 1D space to study the spin diffusion, kurtosis characteristics, spin dephasing and MR signal attenuation in compartment-restricted diffusion environment. The apparent kurtosis was computed based on DKI formulation and compared to the true kurtosis and calculated from the actual diffusion displacement profiles ...

Diffusion Kurtosis Imaging and Pseudokurtosis in phantom studies
2015Aims and objectives: Diffusion kurtosis imaging (DKI) a relatively new technique is based on the non-gaussianity of diffusion in biologic tissues and provides independent information in addition to other diffusion imaging techniques (1-3).

Diffusion Kurtosis Imaging of Persistent Developmental Stuttering
2017Stuttering is a developmental speech disorder characterized by prolongations and/or repetitions of speech sounds as well as silent blocks during speech production. It affects about 5% of children and 1% of the general population. Growing evidence shows that white matter connections of the brain show deficiencies in people who stutter. Examples of those
