Outcomes of Diffusion Tensor Tractography–Integrated Stereotactic Radiosurgery

open access: yesInternational Journal of Radiation Oncology Biology Physics, 2012
To analyze the effect of use of tractography of the critical brain white matter fibers created from diffusion tensor magnetic resonance imaging on reduction of morbidity associated with radiosurgery.Tractography of the pyramidal tract has been integrated since February 2004 if lesions are adjacent to it, the optic radiation since May 2006, and the ...

Diffusion Tensor Magnetic Resonance Imaging Tractography in Progressive Supranuclear Palsy

open access: yesMovement Disorders, 2011
Background: Diffusion tensor magnetic resonance imaging tractography allows quantification of in vivo white matter tract damage. Methods: Using tractography, diffusion tensor magnetic resonance imaging metrics were obtained from the superior and ...

Diffusion tensor brain imaging and tractography

Neuroimaging Clinics of North America, 2002
Diffusion-tensor MR imaging is a promising tool to evaluate white-matter integrity by quantitative and graphic maps including neural fiber tractogram. Current challenges afoot are to obtain higher quality diffusion-weighted MR images (high SNR, isotropic voxel, and high spatial resolution), to create a robust mathematical framework to process the data,

A Comprehensive Reliability Assessment of Quantitative Diffusion Tensor Tractography [PDF]

open access: yesNeuroImage, 2012
Diffusion tensor tractography is increasingly used to examine structural connectivity in the brain in various conditions, but its test-retest reliability is understudied. The main purposes of this study were to evaluate 1) the reliability of quantitative measurements of diffusion tensor tractography and 2) the effect on reliability of the number of ...

Diffusion tensor imaging and tractography of Rasmussen encephalitis

Pediatric Radiology, 2009
A 5-year-old girl presented with intractable seizures and nonfocal hemispheric slowing on EEG. Blood, urine, and CSF laboratory values were all normal. MR imaging of the brain demonstrated diffuse volume loss of the entire left hemisphere. Clinical and imaging findings were consistent with the diagnosis of Rasmussen encephalitis.

Diffusion tensor tractography of the lower spinal cord

Neuroradiology, 2007
We employed a diffusion-tensor (DT) imaging technique involving a single-shot echo-planar sequence in combination with parallel imaging for tractography of the lower spinal cord and assessed the feasibility of this technique.Images were obtained at 1.5 T using a five-channel receiver coil.

Diffusion tensor fiber tractography of the olfactory tract

Magnetic Resonance Imaging, 2011
Magnetic resonance diffusion tensor imaging with fiber tracking is used for 3-dimensional visualization of the nervous system. Peripheral nerves and all cranial nerves, except for the olfactory tract, have previously been visualized. The olfactory tracts are difficult to depict with diffusion-weighted imaging due to the high sensitivity to ...
