Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI) and Tractography
2016Diffusion Tensor Imaging is a Magnet Resonance Imaging-technique that allows for the non-invasive in vivo assessment and delineation of white matter tracts. The Magnet Resonance signal is sensitized to the natural diffusion process of protons and a tensor model is fitted to the resulting data.

Diffusion Tensor Imaging and Fiber Tractography
2009Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI) is a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) modality which can significantly improve our understanding of the brain structures and neural connectivity. DTI measures are thought to be representative of brain tissue microstructure and are particularly useful for examining organized brain regions, such as white matter tract areas.

Diffusion MRI and tensor tractography in ischemic optic neuropathy
Acta Neurologica Belgica, 2012Ischemic optic neuropathies (IONs) are among the most prevalent diseases causing visual impairment in middle-aged and elderly people. While arteritic ION is an ocular emergency and requires early diagnosis and immediate treatment with systemic high-dose corticosteroids to prevent further visual loss, treatment options for non-arteritic ION remain ...

Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI) Tractography
2020The integration of functional magnetic resonance (MR) neuroimaging into treatment planning has increased the therapeutic potential and safety of stereotactic radiosurgery. The authors describe their method of integrating stereotactic diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) tractography into Multiplan planning for CyberKnife radiosurgery.

MR tractography with diffusion tensor imaging in clinical routine
Neuroradiology, 2005Using MRI, we demonstrated that the depiction of the cerebral white matter fiber tracts has become a routine procedure. Diffusion tensor (DT) sequences may be analyzed with combined volume analysis and tractography extraction software, giving indirect visualization of white matter connections. We obtained DT data from 20 subjects with normal MR imaging

Diffusion tensor imaging and fiber tractography in brain malformations
Pediatric Radiology, 2013Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) is an advanced MR technique that provides qualitative and quantitative information about the micro-architecture of white matter. DTI and its post-processing tool fiber tractography (FT) have been increasingly used in the last decade to investigate the microstructural neuroarchitecture of brain malformations.

Atlas-guided probabilistic diffusion-tensor fiber tractography
2008 5th IEEE International Symposium on Biomedical Imaging: From Nano to Macro, 2008We demonstrate the use of a diffusion tensor atlas to perform probabilistic tractography in diffusion tensor data. The tensors from eleven subjects are normalized into a common space by optimizing the similarity between tensors explicitly. The distribution of tensor orientations in the atlas space forms a prior distribution for the fiber orientation ...

Oculomotor nerve palsy evaluated by diffusion-tensor tractography
Neuroradiology, 2006The aim of the study was to test the feasibility of the tractography technique based on diffusion-tensor imaging (DTI) for the assessment of small infarcts involving the brainstem.A patient who presented with an isolated left third cranial nerve palsy underwent magnetic resonance examination.

Clinical applications of diffusion tensor imaging and tractography in children
Pediatric Radiology, 2007Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) is a relatively new addition to routine MR imaging. DTI exploits the preferential movement of water protons within the brain along the axis of the axons. This anisotropic diffusion provides information about the immature brain prior to myelination, during maturation, and in normal and disease states, information that MRI ...
