Accumulation of diflubenzuron in bolti fish Orechromis niloticus
Food / Nahrung, 1991AbstractOrechromis niloticus fingerlings were exposed to the insect growth inhibitor diflubenzuron 1‐(2, 6‐Difluorobenzoyl)3‐(4‐chlorophenyl)urea for 21 days. Diflubenzuron was introduced to the aquariums where fish were maintained at the beginning of the experiment, then its level in water, gills and liver was detected after 1, 7, 14 and 21 days.

Diflubenzuron larvicide auto-dissemination: A modeling study
Acta TropicaProposing substitutes for Pyriproxyfen (PPF) in the auto-dissemination strategy is essential to ensure the continuity of the strategy in the field, especially in the case of the emergence of populations resistant to this larvicide. One possible substitute among the compounds already in use in Brazil is the larvicide Diflubenzuron (DFB).

Rapid on-site immunoassay for diflubenzuron in grains
Analytica Chimica Acta, 2002Abstract An antibody-based test for field use has been developed to enable a screening test for diflubenzuron in animal feed grain. In this test, a pesticide containing methanol extract of the grain sample and an HRP-labeled diflubenzuron derivative are separately added to the antibody-precoated 8-well strip.

Effect of diflubenzuron on nitrogen fixation in soil
Chemosphere, 1988The effect of 100, 200, 300, 400 and 500 μg diflubenzuron per gram of soil was studied in nonsterile soil incubated under aerobic conditions, and in sterilized soil inoculated with Azotobacter vinelandii. The presence of 100 to 500 μg/g had a stimulatory effect on dinitrogen fixation in both nonsterile and sterile soil.

Investigation of locust cuticle using the insecticide diflubenzuron
Journal of Insect Physiology, 1977Abstract Diflubenzuron inhibits the synthesis of chitin ( Verloop , in prep.). Some of the resulting possibilities for the investigation of cuticle are explored in this paper. The cuticle of locusts treated with DFB is prone to fracture in characteristic ways. This is of relevance in studying the function of the exoskeleton.

Pesticide Science, 1978AbstractCuticle consists of chitin microfibrils embedded in a matrix composed largely of hydrated proteins. The effect of diflubenzuron, an inhibitor of chitin synthetase, on the deposition of both these components is reviewed. The polymerisation reaction is but one step in the pathway leading to chitin microfibrils.

Mode of action and insecticidal properties of diflubenzuron
1987The insect integument consists of an epidermal cell layer with the overlying cuticle which it has secreted. The two major components of the insect cuticle are protein and chitin. Chitin, a polymer of acetylglucosamine, always appears to occur in association with protein. The ratio of protein to chitin differs in cuticles of different species.

Effects of bendiocarb and diflubenzuron on mushroom cropping
Annals of Applied Biology, 1986SUMMARYWhen mixed into the casing or compost layers of a mushroom bed in the absence of pests, bendiocarb decreased yield and number of mushrooms according to concentration. The most severe effects were on mushroom number at the two highest rates used (100 and 1000 μg/g), and there were large increases in mushroom size.
