Advancing Digisonde Technology: the DPS-4D

Low latitude digisonde measurements and comparison with IRI
Advances in Space Research, 1996Abstract To compare measured electron density profiles with IRI predictions a rigorous algorithm is used to determine the average representative profile (ARP) from a set of individual electron density profiles. The technique is based on the Digisonde profile inversion that represents each profile by a set of boundary values and coefficients.

1976Abstract : Ionospheric observations with a Digisonde system during upper atmosphere chemical releases were carried out at Wallops Island (ALADDIN 74) in June 1974. Ionogram observations were combined with angle of arrival and Doppler measurements. Ionogram data of ALADDIN 72 and 74 were analyzed with reference to the chemical releases.
