Aberrant expression of nuclear prothymosin α contributes to epithelial‐mesenchymal transition in lung cancer

Nuclear prothymosin α inhibits epithelial‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in lung cancer by increasing Smad7 acetylation and competing with Smad2 for binding to SNAI1, TWIST1, and ZEB1 promoters. In early‐stage cancer, ProT suppresses TGF‐β‐induced EMT, while its loss in the nucleus in late‐stage cancer leads to enhanced EMT and poor prognosis.

Topology preserving representations of compact 2D manifolds by digital 2-surfaces. Compressed digital models and digital weights of compact 2D manifolds. Classification of closed surfaces by digital tools [PDF]

Using digital topology approach, we construct digital models of closed surfaces as the intersection graphs of LCL covers of the surfaces. It is proved that digital models of closed surfaces are digital 2-dimensional surfaces preserving the geometry and topology of their continuous counterparts.

Expression and purification of E140 protein antigen fragments of Plasmodium vivax and Plasmodium berghei for serological assays

We provide a step‐by‐step guide for producing E140 antigen fragments from Plasmodium berghei (Pb1) and Plasmodium vivax (Pv1). Pb1/Pv1 are expressed in E. coli, solubilized by freeze–thawing, refolded by slow dilution, purified by affinity chromatography (IMAC), then concentrated and subjected to quality control.

Computing Logarithms Digit-by-Digit

In this work, we present an algorithm for computing logarithms of positive real numbers, that bares structural resemblance to the elementary school algorithm of long division. Using this algorithm, we can compute successive digits of a logarithm using a 4-operation pocket calculator.

Novel mAbs could detect cancer‐associated membrane proteins on various type of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinomas (PDAC) by flow cytometry with viable PDAC cells and by immunohistochemistry with PDAC tissues. Results of protein expression were substantiated by mRNA expression by The Cancer Genome Atlas.

Digital Fundamental Groups and Edge Groups of Clique Complexes [PDF]

In previous work, we have defined---intrinsically, entirely within the digital setting---a fundamental group for digital images. Here, we show that this group is isomorphic to the edge group of the clique complex of the digital image considered as a graph.
