Digital Image Correlation for Cement-based Materials and Structural Concrete Testing
This paper presents the application of a low-cost digital image correlation (DIC) system for automated crack mapping. The system employed makes use of a conventional digital camera, a remote image recording controller, and an open-source digital image ...

Extended three-dimensional digital image correlation (X3D-DIC) [PDF]
A correlation algorithm is proposed to measure full three-dimensional displacement fields in a three-dimensional domain. The chosen kinematic basis for this measurement is based on continuous finite-element shape functions. It is furthermore proposed to account for the presence of strong discontinuities, similarly to extended finite element schemes ...

A space–time approach in digital image correlation: Movie-DIC [PDF]
A new method is proposed to estimate arbitrary velocity fields from a time series of images acquired by a single camera. This approach, here focused on a single spatial plus a time dimension, is specialized to the decomposition of the velocity field over rectangular shaped (finite-element) bilinear shape functions.

High resolution digital image correlation using proper generalized decomposition: PGD‐DIC [PDF]
SUMMARYA new method is proposed to measure the finite element (FE) displacement field from a deformed image in comparison with a reference one. In opposition to standard FE approaches, the unknown displacement is sought as a sum of products of separated dimension functions.

Fracture toughness testing using photogrammetry and digital image correlation
Digital image correlation (DIC) is an optical technique commonly used for measuring displacement fields by tracking artificially applied random speckle patterns, which can sometimes be a problem for tracking small-scale displacements. DIC is particularly
