An open-source digital image correlation acquisition system, focusing on temporal synchronization with the Gleeble 3800 [PDF]
Current commercial digital image correlation (DIC) systems offer limited versatility, particularly with regards to integrating DIC and thermal imaging on the Gleeble 3800, and are also often financially prohibitive. On the other hand, current open-source

Automated Camera Exposure Control for Accuracy-Enhanced Stereo-Digital Image Correlation Measurement
An automated camera exposure control method, which allows a two-camera stereo-digital image correlation (stereo-DIC) system to capture high-quality speckle image pairs, is presented for accuracy-enhanced stereo-DIC measurement.

From pictures to extended finite elements: extended digital image correlation (X-DIC) [PDF]
An image correlation algorithm accounting for discontinuities is proposed. It is based on a decomposition of the displacement field onto a regular finite element basis supported by a uniform mesh, enriched with suitable functions to describe accurately discontinuities, paralleling recent developments of extended finite elements.

Stabilization of L‐PBF Ni50.7Ti49.3 under low‐cycle loading was investigated. Recoverable strain after cycling was dependent on the amount of applied load. Recovery ratio was 53.4% and 35.1% at intermediate and high load, respectively. The maximum total strain reached 10.3% at a high load of 1200 MPa.

Four‐point bending tests are conducted in an argon atmosphere on commercial MgO‐C brick grades with and without MgO‐C recyclate from room temperature up to 1300 °C. No detrimental effect of the MgO‐C recyclates on bending strength is found. Instead, a decisive influence of the total carbon content is observed, with lower total carbon contents ...

This study reports lightweight polyetherimide triply periodic minimal surfaces lattices coated with carbon nanotube‐reinforced epoxy that combine mechanical robustness with self‐sensing. The conformal coating enhances stiffness, strength and energy absorption while enabling reliable strain monitoring.
