Shadow Infrastructures of Labour: A Case Study of Generative AI Use in Victorian Child Protection Practice

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Social Issues, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) tools such as ChatGPT are rapidly entering workplaces, yet their use in frontline human services remains largely undocumented and weakly regulated. Drawing on an investigation into a child protection worker's informal use of ChatGPT, this article provides insight into how GenAI is already shaping ...

Dynamic Operations in Macromolecular Data Storage

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
With the exponential growth of digital data and the limitations of conventional silicon‐based storage and computing technologies, macromolecular data storage, the practice of encoding digital information within large, complex molecules like DNA or synthetic polymers, has emerged as a scalable and sustainable alternative to traditional digital ...

1,2‐propanediol reformulation improves tribromoethanol safety and reveals pontine GABRA1 enrichment as a candidate mechanistic correlate of anesthesia

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
This study develops a reformulated tribromoethanol (TBE) anesthetic using 1,2‐propanediol as a solvent to overcome solvent‐related toxicity. The novel formulation demonstrates, cardiovascular stability, and survival in prolonged protocols. It provides potent, dose‐dependent anesthesia without strain or sex differences.

Polyproline: A Synthetic Polypeptide With Unique Properties

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Poly‐L‐proline is a unique polypeptide distinguished by its well‐defined secondary structures and unusual thermal behavior. This mini review highlights recent advances in the synthesis of poly‐L‐proline by N‐carboxyanhydride (NCA) polymerization, the formation of structurally defined architectures and nanostructures, and emerging strategies that ...

TADF‐Active Tetrazole Luminophores for Visible‐Light Functionalization of Nanoparticles and Surfaces

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A series of tetrazoles are reported that undergo 1,3‐dipolar cycloadditions with alkene and alkyne substrates, generating (dihydro)pyrazole products that exhibit thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF). The “photo‐click” reactivity of these tetrazoles is leveraged to functionalize nanoparticles and surfaces with TADF‐active chromophores ...
