Digital Predistortion for Narrowband IoT Applications

2018 International Conference on Signal Processing and Communications (SPCOM), 2018
Narrowband Internet-of-Things (NB-IoT) applications can be deployed in licensed and unlicensed bands. Spectrum allocation for Narrowband IoT is often in-between licensed spectrum or available white space frequency bands and the designer is expected to meet stringent spectral mask requirements.

Streamlined MIMO cross-over digital predistortion

2014 IEEE Radio and Wireless Symposium (RWS), 2014
This paper proposes a simplified algorithm for linearizing MIMO nonlinear systems. The linearization technique is designed for MIMO systems with nonlinear cross-talk. The new algorithm relies on estimating the coupling factor and building the 2×2 DPD based on two 1×1 DPDs. The algorithm is around two times faster than the conventional method whilst the

Digital predistortion based on envelope feedback

2012 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP), 2012
A new digital predistortion (DPD) technique based on envelope feedback is proposed for linearization of power amplifiers (PAs). Unlike conventional DPD techniques that need frequency down converters (FDCs) in the feedback path to recover the complex envelope of the PA output, the proposed technique does not need an FDC.

Performance analysis for scalar digital predistortion

2013 IEEE Topical Conference on Power Amplifiers for Wireless and Radio Applications, 2013
The scalar digital predistortion (DPD) technology is an attractive linearization method for power amplifier (PA). By using the method, the hardware is simplified greatly because only the out-band distortion power is feedback to train the predistorter.

An adaptive algorithm for digital predistortion

2006 10th IEEE Singapore International Conference on Communication Systems, 2006
This article presents an adaptive digital predistortion (DPD) for linearizing RF power amplifiers (PA). The idea is to use nonlinear curve-fitting in conjunction with the look-up table to adaptively pre-adjust the gain and the phase of the input data before it is fed to the amplifier. The performance of the algorithm is tested by simulation.

GCMAC-based predistortion for digital modulations

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 2001
Summary: The subject of this paper is the compensation for nonlinearities in digital communication systems by means of predistortion. In this work, we apply the Generalized Cerebellar Model Articulation Controller (GCMAC) to simplify and accelerate the predistorter convergence.

A New Baseband Digital Predistortion System

2005 Asia-Pacific Microwave Conference Proceedings, 2006
Digital predistortion technique has become more and more important in the modern mobile communications due to its excellent IMD suppression. In this paper, a new baseband digital predistortion system based on a complex gain look-up table and a simplified linear convergence algorithm is developed, simulated and tested using a hardware-EDA software ...

Digital predistortion linearizes wireless power amplifiers

IEEE Microwave Magazine, 2005
When compared to other linearization methods, adaptive DP provides sufficient linearization with less complex RF hardware by depending primarily upon DSP rather than analog manipulation. The adaptive DP system may be implemented in EDA software along with interconnected test equipment (arbitrary RF signal source and vector signal analyzer). Through the

A Low-Complexity Digital Predistortion Technique For Digital I/Q Transmitters

2023 IEEE/MTT-S International Microwave Symposium - IMS 2023, 2023
This paper presents an advanced yet simple digital pre-distortion (DPD) technique for digital I/Q transmitters (DTXs). Exploiting the I/Q orthogonality, an effective 2×1-D DPD procedure is proposed to bypass the exhaustive 2-D search of the entire constellation diagram. Utilizing this technique, a four-way Doherty DTX is linearized. Measurement results

Digital radar implementation with amplitude predistortion

2017 IEEE Radar Conference (RadarConf), 2017
The modern advancements in digital electronics allow waveforms to be easily synthesized and captured using only digital electronics. The synthesis of radar waveforms using only digital electronics, such as Digital-to-Analog Converters (DACs) and Analog-to-Digital Converters (ADCs) allows for a majority of the analog chain to be removed from the system.
