Digital Predistortion Using Adaptive Basis Functions

IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems I: Regular Papers, 2013
This paper is concerned with digital predistortion (DPD) for linearization of radio frequency (RF) high power amplifiers (PAs). We propose an adaptive scheme for selecting basis functions for both direct and indirect learning digital predistortion architectures.

Digital memory-based predistortion

IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium Digest, 2005., 2005
A predistortion algorithm based on a memory-based power amplifier model (PA) is presented. The algorithm was tested using a PA measurement system. The predistortion techniques are based on the filtered tapped delay line (TDL) model. Memoryless predistortion techniques are also presented to show the benefits of the memory-based predistortion approach ...

A novel digital predistortion technique for adaptive predistorter applications

2007 European Microwave Conference, 2007
This paper presents a novel predistortion technique for a radio frequency (RF) /microwave power amplifier (PA). To model the nonlinear system, an infinite impulse response (IIR) model is proposed. By sampling the both transmitter system input and output, the low order IIR coefficients can be easily extracted. The IIR model of the system is then use for

Unified Feedback Beamforming Digital Predistorter

2019 49th European Microwave Conference (EuMC), 2019
A novel digital predistortion (DPD) architecture for amplitude- and phase- weighted beamforming (BF) transmitter is proposed. Based on the analysis of BF nonlinear radiation characteristics over-the-air, the proposed DPD with a simple unified feedback circuit can reduce nonlinear radiation in every direction.

Concurrent dual-band digital predistortion

2012 IEEE/MTT-S International Microwave Symposium Digest, 2012
With a power amplifier (PA) being able to support widely separated frequency bands, dual-band digital predistortion techniques have been proposed as an efficient alternative to traditional wideband digital predistortion by only compensating nonlinear distortions around the signal bands of interest.

Baseband Digital Predistorter with Quadrature Error Correction

Analog Integrated Circuits and Signal Processing, 2005
In this paper simulation and measurement results of a FPGA implementation of a baseband digital complex gain predistorter with a quadrature modulator error correction algorithm are presented. In the measurements a 40 dB three stage power ampli er chain with an analog quadrature modulator and demodulator was used as the device to be predistorted.

Digital Predistortion Using Stochastic Conjugate Gradient Method

IEEE Transactions on Broadcasting, 2010
This paper is concerned with digital predistortion for linearization of RF high power amplifiers (HPAs). An iterative stochastic conjugate gradient (SCG) method is used in computing the predistorter in the digital predistortion. The SCG has the advantage of reducing the complexity and, at the same time, increasing the convergence rate and stability of ...

A novel predistorter model for digital predistortion of RF power amplifiers

The 2012 International Workshop on Microwave and Millimeter Wave Circuits and System Technology, 2012
Power amplifiers (PAs) are inherently nonlinear devices and are used in virtually all kinds of communication systems. Whereas, digital predistortion (DPD) is one of the cost-effective ways to improve the linearization performance of PAs. In this paper, a novel perdistorter model, which is used in digital predistortion of RF power amplifiers and based ...
