A novel digital predistortion technique for adaptive predistorter applications

2007 European Microwave Conference, 2007
This paper presents a novel predistortion technique for a radio frequency (RF) /microwave power amplifier (PA). To model the nonlinear system, an infinite impulse response (IIR) model is proposed. By sampling the both transmitter system input and output, the low order IIR coefficients can be easily extracted. The IIR model of the system is then use for

Digital Predistortion for Narrowband IoT Applications

2018 International Conference on Signal Processing and Communications (SPCOM), 2018
Narrowband Internet-of-Things (NB-IoT) applications can be deployed in licensed and unlicensed bands. Spectrum allocation for Narrowband IoT is often in-between licensed spectrum or available white space frequency bands and the designer is expected to meet stringent spectral mask requirements.

Digital predistortion based on envelope feedback

2012 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP), 2012
A new digital predistortion (DPD) technique based on envelope feedback is proposed for linearization of power amplifiers (PAs). Unlike conventional DPD techniques that need frequency down converters (FDCs) in the feedback path to recover the complex envelope of the PA output, the proposed technique does not need an FDC.

Benchmarking of learning architectures for digital predistortion

2016 50th Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems and Computers, 2016
Indirect and direct learning architectures are the two main parameter identification approaches for digital predistortion systems. While the indirect scheme is less complex, its inherent shortcomings are avoided by the direct learning approach. Trying to answer the question whether this advantage of the direct approach can be exploited in terms of ...

GCMAC-based predistortion for digital modulations

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 2001
Summary: The subject of this paper is the compensation for nonlinearities in digital communication systems by means of predistortion. In this work, we apply the Generalized Cerebellar Model Articulation Controller (GCMAC) to simplify and accelerate the predistorter convergence.
