Performance analysis for scalar digital predistortion

2013 IEEE Topical Conference on Power Amplifiers for Wireless and Radio Applications, 2013
The scalar digital predistortion (DPD) technology is an attractive linearization method for power amplifier (PA). By using the method, the hardware is simplified greatly because only the out-band distortion power is feedback to train the predistorter.

Digital predistortion with low-precision ADCs

2017 51st Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems, and Computers, 2017
Digital Predistortion (DPD) is a popular technique for linearizing a power amplifier (PA) to help reduce the spurious emissions and spectral regrowth. DPD requires the learning of the inverse PA nonlinearities by training on the output of the PA. In practical systems, the analog output of the PA will have to go through an analog-to-digital converter ...

A novel predistorter model for digital predistortion of RF power amplifiers

The 2012 International Workshop on Microwave and Millimeter Wave Circuits and System Technology, 2012
Power amplifiers (PAs) are inherently nonlinear devices and are used in virtually all kinds of communication systems. Whereas, digital predistortion (DPD) is one of the cost-effective ways to improve the linearization performance of PAs. In this paper, a novel perdistorter model, which is used in digital predistortion of RF power amplifiers and based ...

Digital memory-based predistortion

IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium Digest, 2005., 2005
A predistortion algorithm based on a memory-based power amplifier model (PA) is presented. The algorithm was tested using a PA measurement system. The predistortion techniques are based on the filtered tapped delay line (TDL) model. Memoryless predistortion techniques are also presented to show the benefits of the memory-based predistortion approach ...

An adaptive algorithm for digital predistortion

2006 10th IEEE Singapore International Conference on Communication Systems, 2006
This article presents an adaptive digital predistortion (DPD) for linearizing RF power amplifiers (PA). The idea is to use nonlinear curve-fitting in conjunction with the look-up table to adaptively pre-adjust the gain and the phase of the input data before it is fed to the amplifier. The performance of the algorithm is tested by simulation.

Optimization of Digital Predistortion with Memory

2018Systems of Signal Synchronization, Generating and Processing in Telecommunications (SYNCHROINFO), 2018
In this paper identification of the digital predistortion (DPD) operator for power amplifier (PA) linearization is considered. Improving the identification performance generally amounts to finding the appropriate reduced-complexity parametrized model of memory nonlinearity and to avoid ill-conditionality of the corresponding LS problem.

Digital predistortion for power amplifiers

The power amplier (PA) is one of the most critical subsystems in wireless (and wired) trans- mitters. Not only is it one of the most power hungry devices that accounts for most of the direct current (DC) power consumed in macro base stations, but also it is the main source of nonlinear distortion in the transmitter.
