A novel workflow for investigating hydride vapor phase epitaxy for GaN bulk crystal growth is proposed. It combines Design of experiments (DoE) with physical simulations of mass transport and crystal growth kinetics, serving as an intermediate step between DoE and experiments.

Real time digital reference services are now a standard part of reference work in medium to large sized libraries as well as numerous smaller libraries. Aside from the basic questions of whether or not this new computer service will flourish, are the day-to-day activities which make it possible.

Summary This article discusses the fallacy that real-time and asynchronous digital reference software are fundamentally different. Instead the author argues that the only real difference is lag time, and that this difference does not support the separation of digital reference functions.

2013 IEEE 56th International Midwest Symposium on Circuits and Systems (MWSCAS), 2013
A digital bandgap reference that provides a programmable reference voltage output is presented. It uses the same idea as an analog bandgap circuit except that the three operations of differencing, scaling and addition are done in the digital domain after converting the operands, the analog junction-diode voltages, into numbers.

Government Information Quarterly, 2000
Abstract As agencies increasingly provide services via the Internet and government documents migrate to online agency Web sites, government service providers face a growing problem of how manage high volumes of public questions sent to government Web sites by e-mail. This article focuses on the increasing public demand for digital reference services.

A Reference Model for Digital Transformation and Innovation
2019 IEEE 23rd International Enterprise Distributed Object Computing Conference (EDOC), 2019Digital Transformation (DT) has a direct impact on relations and forms of consumption. New technologies are being incorporated continuously into our day-to-day life, introducing new shapes for traditional and original kinds of businesses. Nevertheless, it is interesting to notice that most novelty is based mainly on processes, rather than on technology.

Reference Encoding of Correlated Digital Sources
IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1978A reference code, with an associated bound on the code rate, for the encoding of correlated digital sources is introduced. The reference code is adaptive and simple to implement. Image coding results obtained using concatenated trellis and reference encoding are presented.

Digital reference: Reference librarians' experiences and attitudes
Journal of the American Society for Information Science and Technology, 2002AbstractThis article reports the results of a survey of reference librarians in public and academic libraries of various sizes in the United States, asking them about their experiences with and attitudes towards the use of digital and networked technologies and resources in reference work. A total of 648 responded. In general, respondents were positive

Question taxonomies for digital reference
ACM SIGIR Forum, 2004The growth in the past decade of both the infrastructure and the number of users of the Internet has enabled a corresponding growth in the number of users of digital reference services on the Internet. This increase has led to an increase in the number of questions received by these services, putting a strain on the human intermediaries employed ...

A digital frame of reference for viewing digital images
The British Journal of Radiology, 2001Digital imaging is becoming widespread in diagnostic radiology. Most diagnostic digital images do not relate explicitly to the physical processes involved in their generation but are, in essence, a "pseudo" image generated from digital data using pre- and post-processing.
