Evaluation of blasting in an opencast mine [PDF]
Fragmentation is one of the key issues in opencast blasting as properties like shape and size of rock materials are very important information for production optimization. The degree of fragmentation influences the economy of the mining process and hence

A Boat Is a Boat Is a Boat…Unless It Is a Horse – Rethinking the Role of Typology
Today, it is widely accepted that typology is a biased and inconsistent attempt to classify archaeological material based on the similarity of a predefined set of features. In this respect, machine learning (ML) works similar to typology.

Hybrid Nanofibers for Multimodal Accelerated Wound Healing
Fabrication of wound healing scaffolds based on biocompatible nanofibers. Nanofibers offering high surface area, flexibility, and biocompatibility significantly improved the healing outcome in vivo. Histological, immunological, and anti‐inflammatory markers are noticeably better in treated wounds.

Porous 3D‐printed titanium implants are made bioactive by integration with a supramolecular peptide‐hyaluronic acid nanofibrillar scaffold, without the addition of exogenous cells or growth factors. Uniform filling of the implant architecture promotes vascularized, spatially homogeneous bone regeneration, significantly enhancing osteogenesis throughout

Automated sliding susceptibility mapping of rock slopes [PDF]
International audienceWe present a suite of extensions for ARCVIEW GIS? (ESRI) that allows to map the spatial distribution of first-order mechanical slope-properties in hard rock terrain, e.g. for large slope areas like water reservoir slopes.

This study presents the first entirely isogenic heart‐on‐chip, unifying cardiomyocytes, fibroblasts, and endothelial cells from a single iPSC source. The platform reveals a critical biological insight: the endothelium actively shields cardiac tissue from drug‐induced toxicity, challenging the predictive accuracy of conventional, avascular models for ...
