Responsive Open Microfluidic Logic for Mechanical Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Coupling elasticity with capillarity transforms mechanical compression into binary fluidic states, enabling deterministic logic in open microfluidic circuits. This work demonstrates that computation can emerge from interactions between mechanic and fluidic domains, establishing a general strategy for embedding information processing directly within ...

TopoRSNet: A Unique Approach to Maintaining Topological Features for Digital Rock Image Rescaling With Minimal Quality Degradation

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Machine Learning and Computation
The composition, microstructure, and physical behavior of rock at the core‐to‐pore scale are commonly visualized and characterized using 3D X‐ray microcomputed tomography (micro‐CT). However, a key geophysical problem in micro‐CT rock characterization is

Advancing Fruit Bioimpedance Monitoring With Sustainable, Soft, And Bio‐Based Electrodes Beyond ECG

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Electrical impedance spectroscopy enables non‐destructive fruit quality monitoring, but conventional ECG and needle electrodes compromise signal stability, fruit physiology, and sustainability. This perspective highlights the transition toward soft, biocompatible, and biodegradable electrode interfaces based on natural substrates, bio‐derived ...

Breaking the Durability–Power Trade‐Off: Boron‐Directed Faceted O3 Cathodes for High‐Rate Sodium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Boron‐oxide‐assisted particle engineering stabilizes O3‐type layered cathodes for sodium‐ion batteries by mitigating phase transitions and lattice strain. Acting as flux and structural modifier, boron forms submicron hexagonal platelets with (003) facets and expanded Na‐layer spacing, enabling rapid Na⁺ diffusion and mechanical resilience.

An Effective Method for Digital Rock Reconstruction with Enhanced Pore Connectivity

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Digital rock technology is essential for characterizing the petrophysical properties of tight reservoirs. However, conventional construction methods often yield models with insufficient pore connectivity due to low porosity and complex nanopore ...

Decoupling Chemical and Mechanical Contributions to Capacity Fading in Ni‐Rich Cathodes for Sulfide‐Based All‐Solid‐State Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Ni‐rich cathodes in sulfide‐based ASSBs undergo intertwined (electro)chemical and mechanical degradation. Here, a new diagnostic framework is presented to decouple each contribution by partitioning capacity fading into charge and discharge fading.
