Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

Quaternion Signal Analysis for Detection of Broken Rotor Fault Degrees in Induction Motors
Fault detection in induction motors is essential for maintaining the reliability of industrial operations. In practical applications, induction motors experience gradual wear on critical components, such as rotor bars, affecting their performance.

Unitary Equivalence: A New Twist on Signal Processing
Journal PaperUnitary similarity transformations furnish a powerful vehicle for generating infinite generic classes of signal analysis and processing tools based on concepts different from time, frequency, and scale.

In this study, we developed a deep learning method for mitotic figure counting in H&E‐stained whole‐slide images and evaluated its prognostic impact in 13 external validation cohorts from seven different cancer types. Patients with more mitotic figures per mm2 had significantly worse patient outcome in all the studied cancer types except colorectal ...

Hidden Markov Models for Wavelet-based Signal Processing
Conference PaperCurrent wavelet-based statistical signal and image processing techniques such as shrinkage and filtering treat the wavelet coefficients as though they were statistically independent.

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Efficient Floating-Point Division for Digital Signal Processing Application [Tips & Tricks].
Floating-point division is an expensive operation for processors in digital signal processing (DSP). The basis of the division operation is finding the reciprocal of the divisor.

Warped wavelet bases: unitary equivalence and signal processing
Conference PaperThe notions of time, frequency, and scale are generalized using concepts from unitary operator theory and applied to time-frequency analysis, in particular the wavelet and short-time Fourier transform orthonormal bases and Cohen's class ...
