Digital space vector modulation decoupled control scheme grid connected 1-Ø riven bias inverter to suppress high-frequency current commutation

open access: yesThe International Journal of Electrical Engineering & Education, 2018
A single-juncture topology of 3-Ø boost inverter with riven DC supply configuration grieves from larger incidence current commutations across the diodepassive in connection with the DC source and the intricate study as the inductor charges with ...

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Space optical instruments optimisation thanks to CMOS image sensor technology [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Today, both CCD and CMOS sensors can be envisaged for nearly all visible sensors and instruments designed for space needs. Indeed, detectors built with both technologies allow excellent electro-optics performances to be reached, the selection of the most

Why human connection is the true metric of research success

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Human‐centred mentorship can be shaped by mentor attributes, actions, intrinsic drive and career ambition. Drawing on reflections across Singapore and France, as well as workshop insights from FEBS‐IUBMB ENABLE 2024, this article shows that human‐centred mentorship creates the conditions for sustainable growth, well‐being and retention in research ...

Optimizing photoactivation of PA‐mCherry for optical pooled CRISPR screens

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Photoactivatable PA‐mCherry finds widespread use to optically tag individual cells. However, confocal 405 nm UV laser‐scanning (normal scan) is much less efficient than widefield UV illumination, limiting the use of PA‐mCherry on confocal instruments. We remedy this limitation by reporting that rapid and repeated confocal scanning with a low‐intensity,

Story Sharing in a Digital Space to Counter Othering and Foster Belonging and Curiosity among College Students

open access: yesJournal of Media Literacy Education, 2019
The purpose of this exploratory qualitative study was to discover how a single, relational intervention in a digital space focused on civil, respectful conversation across difference might influence digital media literacy (DML) among college students ...

Towards a holistic approach to policy interoperability in digital libraries and digital repositories [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Underpinning every digital library and digital repository there is a policy framework, which makes the digital library viable - without a policy framework a digital library is little more than a container for content. Policy governs how a digital library

Cyclic azapeptide CD36 ligand attenuates cardiac injury and reduces long‐chain fatty acid accumulation after myocardial ischemia–reperfusion in mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

Path-induced closure operators on graphs for defining digital Jordan surfaces

open access: yesOpen Mathematics, 2019
Given a simple graph with the vertex set X, we discuss a closure operator on X induced by a set of paths with identical lengths in the graph. We introduce a certain set of paths of the same length in the 2-adjacency graph on the digital line ℤ and ...

Repentir: Digital exploration beneath the surface of an oil painting [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Repentir is a mobile application that employs marker-less tracking and augmented reality to enable gallery visitors to explore the under drawing and successive stages of pigment beneath an oil painting's surface.
