Synergistic Interface Engineering via Buffer Layer and UVO Treatment for High‐Performance PbS Quantum Dot Near‐Infrared Photodiodes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A dual‐interface strategy combining a solvent‐orthogonal Poly‐TPD buffer with UV–ozone tuning of PbS‐EDT reconstructs interfacial energetics and defect chemistry in PbS CQD photodiodes. The optimized interface suppresses shunt‐ and trap‐related leakage, reduces noise, and enables high‐detectivity near‐infrared detection with imaging capability ...

Palmitoylation of PSD‐95 Orchestrates Learning‐Dependent Metaplasticity in the Amygdala and Fear Memory

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals that fear learning specifically triggers PICK1/DHHC2‐dependent palmitoylation of PSD‐95 in the lateral amygdala. Fear conditioning induces the dissociation of DHHC5 from PSD‐95 and the association of PSD‐95 with DHHC2. DHHC2‐mediated palmitoylation of PSD‐95 is required for synaptic transmission and underlies fear learning–induced ...

Arterial Blood‐Mediated Deep‐Tissue Photoacoustic Oximetry

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The arterial prior method (APM+) for photoacoustic oximetry is introduced, which leverages the high arterial blood oxygenation to calibrate the fluence at the artery and estimate the oxygenation of the surrounding tissue, thus circumventing the spectral coloring problem. APM+’s accuracy and consistency are shown in a series of phantom and in vivo human

Gene Correction Enhances Dopaminergic Cell Therapy in a Nonhuman Primate Model of Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
LRRK2‐mutant induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) were derived from a patient with Parkinson's disease (PD). Using CRISPR/Cas9–mediated gene editing, the pathogenic LRRK2 mutations were precisely corrected, and isogenic dopaminergic neural progenitor cells (DA‐NPCs) were subsequently generated.

Digitisation and sovereignty of the state (ITA Dossier no 45en, October 2019) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
• Digitisation also changes politics and the state. State sovereignty is massively challenged, especially with regard to administrative action, digital infrastructure, and democratic processes.

Digitised Diseases

open access: yesThe Bulletin of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, 2013
Over the past year RCS museum staff have been working on a project called Digitised Diseases. This Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC)-funded project is a collaboration with the university of Bradford and Museum of London Archaeology (MOLA). Digitised Diseases aims to bridge the gap between modern clinical medicine, historic medical collections

Charge‐Transfer‐Mediated Boron Magneto‐Ionics: Towards Voltage‐Driven Multi‐Ion Transport

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates voltage‐driven multi‐ion transport in FeBO systems, revealing simultaneous motion of B, Fe, and O ions enabled by charge‐transfer effects. By tuning oxidation states through oxygen incorporation, we achieve a transition from electrostatic‐like to electrochemical magneto‐ionic behavior. The findings establish boron magneto‐ionics,

Budgeting for a Digitisation Project [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
It is not possible to provide detailed information on budgeting for a digitisation project; these costs will depend on the nature, condition and amount of analogue materials to be digitised and the extent and accuracy of existing metadata.
