Acoustic Rayleigh Wave Turbulence in Soft Viscoelastic Matter

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Discrete acoustic Rayleigh wave turbulence (DARWT) is observed on the free surface of viscoelastic materials under monochromatic excitation. Governed by bulk shear rigidity supporting inertial modes against surface tension, the nonlinear Rayleigh waves exhibit distinct power‐law scaling and turbulence features in their Kolmogorov–Zakharov spectra. This

Developing integrated workflows for the digitisation of herbarium specimens using a modular and scalable approach

open access: yesZooKeys, 2012
Digitisation programmes in many institutes frequently involve disparate and irregular funding, diverse selection criteria and scope, with different members of staff managing and operating the processes.

Pinoresinol Diglucoside Attenuates Nuclear Receptor Coactivator 4‐Mediated Ferritinophagy Associated with Cisplatin‐Induced Hearing Loss

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Pinoresinol diglucoside, a bioactive component extracted from traditional Chinese medicine, attenuates cisplatin‐induced ototoxicity in vivo and in vitro. The protective effect is achieved by downregulation of Socs1. The present study is the first to investigate the expression and function of Socs1 in inner ear, which is known to promote ferroptosis ...

Novel approach to characterize the cross‐linking effect of liquid silicone rubber via cavity pressure analysis during injection molding

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, Volume 140, Issue 4, January 20, 2023., 2023
In this paper, the cross‐linking reaction during the processing of liquid silicone rubber in the injection molding process is illustrated by measuring the cavity pressure. This shows a characteristic curve when derived twice. This curve is attributable to cross‐linking. With this knowledge, processes can be optimized and costs saved.

Single Administration of AAV‐mAtp6v1b2 Gene Therapy Rescues Hearing and Vestibular Disorders Caused by Atp6v1b2‐Induced Lysosomal Dysfunction in Hair Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Wei et al. establish a hair cell‐specific conditional knockout mouse model (Atp6v1b2fl/fl;Atoh1Cre/+), and demonstrate the importance of Atp6v1b2 for hair cell through maintaining the survival of lysosomes. A single administration of AAV‐ie‐Eh3‐mAtp6v1b2 through scala media at P0‐P2 realizes function compensation and restores hearing and balance ...

Rapid character scoring and tabulation of large leaf‐image libraries using Adobe Bridge

open access: yesApplications in Plant Sciences, Volume 10, Issue 6, November-December 2022., 2022
Abstract Premise Digital image libraries are an integral part of specimen‐based research. However, coding and extracting metadata for hundreds of specimens on a personal computer can be complex. In addition, most existing workflows require downsampling or platform switching and do not link character data directly to the images.
