Caveolin‐1 Stabilizes SERCA2 to Counteract Acute Kidney Injury via Suppression of Ca2+‐Dependent Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress in Distal Tubules

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In AKI, initial kidney injury upregulates the expression of Cav‐1, which subsequently binds to and stabilizes SERCA2 via its scaffolding domain and through deubiquitination, thereby regulating Ca2+ homeostasis and ER stress. Conversely, Cav‐1 deficiency accelerates SERCA2 degradation, triggering Ca2+ overload and ER stress, and ultimately exacerbating ...

Aortic Dilatation in Children and Young People With ADPKD

open access: yesKidney International Reports
Introduction: Aortic root dilatation is a reported cardiovascular sequela seen in children and young people (CYP) with chronic kidney disease (CKD) but has yet to be described in those with autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD).

Idiopathic dilatation of pulmonary artery

open access: yes, 2016
Idiopathic dilatation of pulmonary arteries (IDPA) is a rare abnormality of pulmonary arteries, the reported incidence in literature being as low as 0.007% in autopsy samples.

Multiscale Architecture and Mechanics of the Cell Nucleus: Implications for Disease, Bioengineering and Nanomedicine

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nuclear mechanical properties are inherently scale‐dependent, arising from a hierarchical architecture that spans DNA, chromatin, the nuclear envelope, and condensates. Experimental techniques and theoretical models are integrated into a cohesive multiscale framework linking nanoscale structural features to organelle‐level mechanical behavior.

Flow-mediated dilatation facilitates transradial coronary angiography: a comparative study

open access: yes
Introduction: Radial artery (RA) spasm is demonstrated to be one of the most common complications of transradial approach (TRA). Aim: We hypothesised that radial flow-mediated dilation (FMD) can be used as a preprocedural method to assess the likelihood ...

Integrated Single‐Cell and Spatial Analysis Reveals a Metabolic‐Immune Axis Driving Aortic Dissection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Single‐cell and spatial profiling of 110 human thoracic aortic samples reveals a stromal–immune circuit driving aortic dissection. An elastin‐rich fibroblast subset is depleted with age and markedly reduced in disease, weakening aortic wall integrity.

A Novel Approach to Tracheostomal and Tracheal Stenosis: Dilatation Under Jet Ventilation with Inflated Foley Catheter—Two Cases

open access: yesSurgical Techniques Development
Tracheostomal stenosis is a troublesome and distressing complication in laryngectomy. There are numerous techniques that describe dilatation of tracheostoma which are mostly performed under general anesthesia with the intermittent apnea technique.

Aortic dilatation in Marfan mice reduced by losartan.

open access: yes, 2014
The aortic root dilatation rate was determined. Placebo-treated Marfan mice had a significantly higher dilatation rate compared to wildtype mice.

CK2α Deficiency Drives Myocardial Fibrosis via Desmin‐Induced Mitochondrial Dysfunction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CK2α preserves mitochondrial homeostasis by phosphorylating Desmin to recruit Cryab, ensuring proper filament assembly. CK2α deficiency disrupts this interaction, causing mitochondrial dysfunction, metabolic shifts, bioenergetic failure, and oxidative stress—ultimately establishing a pro‐fibrotic environment that drives cardiac fibrosis.
