The splitting finite-difference time-domain methods for Maxwell's equations in two dimensions
The authors present two splitting finite-difference time-domain schemes on a staggered grid for solving Maxwell's equations in two dimensions. The schemes consist of two stages for each time step, which are simpler in computation as compared with usual 2D-ADI-FDTD schemes.

Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

ν-point energy correletors with FastEEC: Small-x physics from LHC jets
In recent years, energy correlators have emerged as a powerful tool for studying jet substructure, with promising applications such as probing the hadronization transition, analyzing the quark-gluon plasma, and improving the precision of top quark mass ...

Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

Efficient Indexing Method for Massive 3D Geological Block Models Based on Inverted-B+ Tree [PDF]
The prevalence of zero or null values in three-dimensional geological block models raises maintenance costs and efficiency issues due to frequent splitting and adjustment of the B+tree-based attribute index structure. An indexing method based on Inverted ...

Strict and fussy mode splitting in the tangent space of the Ginzburg-Landau equation
In the tangent space of some spatially extended dissipative systems one can observe "physical" modes which are highly involved in the dynamics and are decoupled from the remaining set of hyperbolically "isolated" degrees of freedom representing strongly ...

ZFAS1 is a lncRNA promoting cell proliferation and migration, exhibiting high expression in various cancers. It is conserved, widely expressed, and produces multiple splice variants with unclear roles. We identified several splice variants in hepatocyte models, and found that inhibiting or suppressing regulators of the unfolded protein response (PERK ...

UAV Remote Sensing Object Detection Based on 3D Multi-layer Feature Collaboration [PDF]
To solve the large proportion of small targets and complex background in UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) aerial image, the current object detection model has the problems of low accuracy and missed detection of small targets.

Quantum Black Holes in Conformal Dilaton–Higgs Gravity on Warped Spacetimes
A promising method for understanding the geometric properties of a spacetime in the vicinity of the horizon of a Kerr-like black hole can be developed by applying the antipodal boundary condition on the two opposite regions in the extended Penrose ...

In this study, we developed a deep learning method for mitotic figure counting in H&E‐stained whole‐slide images and evaluated its prognostic impact in 13 external validation cohorts from seven different cancer types. Patients with more mitotic figures per mm2 had significantly worse patient outcome in all the studied cancer types except colorectal ...
