Dimensional stability of Superinvar

Applied Optics, 1983
Attention is called to new thermal expansion measurements on temporally stable Superinvar. The measurements indicate that its thermal expansivity vs temperature is more desirable than has been suggested by earlier measurements (Berthold et al., 1976). It is pointed out that at approximately 47 C, the thermal expansion coefficient is zero; however, the ...

On the dimensionality of ecological stability

Ecology Letters, 2013
Abstract Ecological stability is touted as a complex and multifaceted concept, including components such as variability, resistance, resilience, persistence and robustness. Even though a complete appreciation of the effects of perturbations on ecosystems requires the simultaneous measurement of these multiple components of stability ...

Dimensional Stability of Reinforced Matrices

1983
Particulate fillers are often used to improve the dimensional stability of polymeric items obtained through processing techniques such as injection molding, deep drawing, hot stamping, etc. In these operations the material undergoes large multiaxial deformations which result in molecular orientation and remain as frozen-in stresses during cooling of ...

Dimensional stability of temporary restoratives

Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, 1975
The effects of thermal cycling on the dimensional stability of temporary restoratives were studied. Stability appeared to be affected significantly by water content. On thermal cycling, Cavit showed less linear dimensional change than two cements containing zinc oxide-eugenol and gutta-percha temporary stopping.

ON STABILIZING N-DIMENSIONAL CHAOTIC SYSTEMS

International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 2003
This paper deals with the control of a class of n-dimensional chaotic systems. The proposed method consists in a Variable Structure Control approach based on system energy consideration for both controller design and system stabilization. First, we present some theoretical results related to the stabilization of global invariant sets included in a ...

Full Stability in Finite-Dimensional Optimization

Mathematics of Operations Research, 2015
The paper is devoted to full stability of optimal solutions in general settings of finite-dimensional optimization with applications to particular models of constrained optimization problems, including those of conic and specifically semidefinite programming. Developing a new technique of variational analysis and generalized differentiation, we derive

Stability and stability margin for a two-dimensional system

IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 2006
In this paper, a necessary and sufficient condition is derived for the stability of the Fornasini-Marchesini (FM) first model proposed for two-dimensional (2-D) dynamic system descriptions. A connection has been established between the stability of this model and the structured singular value (SSV) of a constant matrix, which is now widely known in ...

On the stability of two-dimensional convection

Dimensional stability of occlusal splints

The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1996
Five fabrication techniques and two storage methods were used to construct and store specimens to investigate the dimensional stability of acrylic resin occlusal splints. A research model was developed to more closely approximate the tooth coverage limits of occlusal splints.
