Dimensional stability of Superinvar
Applied Optics, 1983Attention is called to new thermal expansion measurements on temporally stable Superinvar. The measurements indicate that its thermal expansivity vs temperature is more desirable than has been suggested by earlier measurements (Berthold et al., 1976). It is pointed out that at approximately 47 C, the thermal expansion coefficient is zero; however, the ...

Mexican tropical hardwoods — dimensional stability
Holz als Roh- und Werkstoff, 1995In previous articles origin and basic mechanical and physical properties of 43 Mexican hardwoods were described. Here the swelling behaviour of these wood species is pesented: (1) differential swelling (qT, qR), (2) swelling coefficients (hT, hR), (3) sorption coefficient (s) and (4) the time to equilibrate between EMC at 80% RH and 65% RH.

Dimensional stability of temporary restoratives
Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, 1975The effects of thermal cycling on the dimensional stability of temporary restoratives were studied. Stability appeared to be affected significantly by water content. On thermal cycling, Cavit showed less linear dimensional change than two cements containing zinc oxide-eugenol and gutta-percha temporary stopping.

Dimensional stability and colour change of heat-treated young teak wood
International Wood Products Journal, 2019Teak is a famous commercial timber; however, many community forests produce low-quality teak from young trees. This research aimed to investigate the effect of heat treatment on the dimensional stability and colour of young teak wood.

ON STABILIZING N-DIMENSIONAL CHAOTIC SYSTEMS
International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 2003This paper deals with the control of a class of n-dimensional chaotic systems. The proposed method consists in a Variable Structure Control approach based on system energy consideration for both controller design and system stabilization. First, we present some theoretical results related to the stabilization of global invariant sets included in a ...

Three-dimensional stability of compound slope using limit analysis method
Canadian geotechnical journal (Print), 2019This paper investigates three-dimensional (3D) stability of a compound soil slope with two inclination angles using the limit analysis method. The current limit analysis involves the toe-failure, face-failure, and base-failure mechanisms of the slope ...

Dimensional Stability of Reinforced Matrices
1983Particulate fillers are often used to improve the dimensional stability of polymeric items obtained through processing techniques such as injection molding, deep drawing, hot stamping, etc. In these operations the material undergoes large multiaxial deformations which result in molecular orientation and remain as frozen-in stresses during cooling of ...

Dimensional Stabilization of Wood
Current Forestry Reports, 2015This paper comprehensively reviews the relevant literature and presents the methods and processes used to investigate the dimensional stabilization of wood using various modification techniques, including (a) hydrophobization of wood surfaces to block the entrance and exit of water; (b) impregnation treatment with bulking agents, such as resin and wax,
