On Stability and Transition in Three-Dimensional Flows
AIAA Journal, 1979The usefulness of the e" method for predicting transition in two-dimensional and axially symmetric flows is well established. In order to extend the method to three-dimensi onal parallel shear flows, it is first necessary to establish a relationship between a and /?, the complex wave numbers in two perpendicular directions in the plane of flow.

Stability of infinite-dimensional linear inclusions
2015 20th International Conference on Methods and Models in Automation and Robotics (MMAR), 2015In this paper we present three concepts of stability for discrete linear inclusions, i.e. uniform power equistability, power equistability and selectable stability. The main result states that first two concepts are equivalent. Moreover they are equivalent to the fact that a numerical quantity called generalized spectral radius is less than one ...

Stability of one-dimensional array solitons
Physical Review E, 2002The array soliton stability in the discrete nonlinear Schrödinger equation with dispersion for periodic boundary conditions is studied. The linear growth rate dependence on the discrete wave number and soliton amplitude is calculated from the linearized eigenvalue problem using the variational method.

Stability of switching infinite-dimensional systems
Automatica, 2005In this note, we generalize the results from Narendra and Balakrishnan (IEEE Trans. Automatic Control 39 (1994) 2469) to the infinite-dimensional system theoretic setting. The paper gives results on the stability of a switching system of the form x@?(t)=A"ix(t), i@?{1,2}, when the infinitesimal generators A"1 and A"2 commute. In addition, the existence

Stabilization of two-dimensional recursive filters
ICASSP '79. IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2005In this paper we present a new stabilization procedure based on the spectral factorization capability of PLSI (planar least square inverse) polynomials of semicausal form. It is not involved with an intermediate PLSI polynomial since stabilization of an unstable filter is directly obtained from its autocorrelation function.

Stability and dimensional reduction
General Relativity and Gravitation, 1988With the help of dynamical system methods the stability ofR×S 3×S D solutions (whereS 3 andS D are maximally symmetric spaces) with the static microspace and the energy-momentum tensor determined by unifying theories is investigated. The general stability criterion is given and the significance of certain particular cosmological solutions is discussed.
