Topological stability in higher dimensional theories [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 1988
Abstract In theories whose premise is that there are more than four dimensions to space-time it is often difficult to analyze the stability of the compact extra space against quantum fluctuations. We proffer some elementary criteria for a qualitative discussion of this problem, and illustrate their use with a simple model. The influence of background

Cytoplasmic p21 promotes stemness of colon cancer cells via activation of the NFκB pathway

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytoplasmic p21 promotes colorectal cancer stem cell (CSC) features by destabilizing the NFκB–IκB complex, activating NFκB signaling, and upregulating BCL‐xL and COX2. In contrast to nuclear p21, cytoplasmic p21 enhances spheroid formation and stemness transcription factor CD133.

Dimensional Stability of Olive (Olea europaea L.) and Teak (Tectona grandis L.) [PDF]

open access: yesDrvna Industrija, 2010
Olive, as a wood species, can be compared by its dimensional stability with teak wood, which is mainly used for products exposed to external conditions.

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Comparative Analysis of Properties of Particleboards Made from Corn Cobs at Varying Proportions of Clay Soil

open access: yesNigerian Journal of Technological Development, 2020
Particles of dried corn cobs were employed for manufacture of cement bonded particleboards. Two types of clay soil (red and white) were used as supplement with cement to manufacture cement bonded particleboards.

THE BEHAVIOUR OF THE 2:2 RIB STRUCTURES MADE OF 100% COTTON YARNS, NM 40/1, AFTER KNITTING PROCESS [PDF]

open access: yesAnnals of the University of Oradea: Fascicle of Textiles, Leatherwork, 2017
Researches made on the 2:2 rib structures have demonstrated that for obtaining knits with maximum dimensional stability it is necessary that in their structure to be introduced tensions with the lowest values, structures to balance dimensionaly from the ...

LINC01116, a hypoxia‐lncRNA marker of pathological lymphangiogenesis and poor prognosis in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...

Parameters Optimization for Compressing a Mixture of Decomposed Rice Straw and Biochar into a Seedling-raising Mat

open access: yesBioResources, 2022
Transplanting is the prime growing pattern for rice production, and seedling raising is an essential step of the process. However, the massive soil source and the complicated treatments needed for seedling raising are major issues.

RaMBat: Accurate identification of medulloblastoma subtypes from diverse data sources with severe batch effects

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
To integrate multiple transcriptomics data with severe batch effects for identifying MB subtypes, we developed a novel and accurate computational method named RaMBat, which leveraged subtype‐specific gene expression ranking information instead of absolute gene expression levels to address batch effects of diverse data sources.
