AbstractAnalogues of PGF2α have been used in boars with positive results on sexual behaviour, but limited impact on semen quality. The objective of this study was to determine whether the administration of Dinoprost tromethamine or D‐Cloprostenol enhances the sexual behaviour and semen quality of sexually inexperienced growing lambs during the onset of

Rates of luteolysis and pregnancy in dairy cows after treatment with cloprostenol or dinoprost
Theriogenology, 2010Our objective was to determine whether rates of luteolysis or pregnancy differed in lactating dairy cows of known progesterone status and either known or unknown luteal status after either cloprostenol or dinoprost was injected as part of a timed-insemination program.

Intramuscular injections of drugs and vaccines cause tissue damage and subsequent effects on tenderness and consumer acceptability of beef. In the 2007 National Market Cow and Bull Beef Quality Audit, 100% of plants reported fabricating subprimal cuts such as rib eyes and tenderloins from cow and bull carcasses. Dairy beef quality should therefore be a

Influence of repeated dinoprost treatment on ovarian activity in cycling dairy cows
Theriogenology, 2014To study the ovarian response to the long-term effect of PGF2α, 16 cows were treated with 25 mg tromethamine dinoprost (Pronalgon F; Pfizer, Tokyo, Japan) for 21 days after natural ovulation. Five control cows were treated with sterile physiological saline.

Abstract Cloprostenol (500 ug) and dinoprost tromethamine (65 mg in three doses) were similarly effective in controlling estrus during superovulation with FSH-P. Estrous response was 97.3% and 99.5%, respectively. Embryo production was the same measured in terms of the number transferable, total, percent transferable and number of ova cleaved.

High‐pressure liquid chromatographic determination of the 15‐epimer of dinoprost in bulk drug
The p-nitrophenacyl esters of dinoprost and its 15-epimer are well resolved using high-pressure liquid chromatography. Quantitation was achieved using the internal standard technique. The specially synthesized diphenylurea ester of cholic acid was found to be a model internal standard.
