Performance of a Diode-Clamped Linear Amplifier

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2008
This paper proposes a new high-efficiency diode-clamped linear amplifier, and presents its theoretical and experimental performance. The main circuit of the proposed amplifier consists of series-connected MOSFETs, series-connected dc power supplies and clamping diodes. The circuit configuration is similar to a diode-clamped multi-level inverter, except

A new diode-clamp cascade multilevel converter

IECON'03. 29th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IEEE Cat. No.03CH37468), 2004
Cascade and diode-clamp voltage source converter have become increasingly popular in recent years due to their practicability. This paper will present a new diode-clamp cascade multilevel converter that is derived from these two topologies. The new concept of the novel diode-clamp cascade converter is based on the connection of multiple three-level ...

Diode-Clamped Three-Level Dual Buck Inverter

2009 International Conference on Energy and Environment Technology, 2009
Dual Buck inverter(DBI) is a new topology which has the characteristics of high frequency and efficiency. But the output voltage of the bridge is a bipolar PWM waveform and voltage stress of the component in DBI is high, just like the half bridge inverter.

Comparative Harmonic Analysis of Diode Clamped Multi-Level Inverter

2018 3rd International Conference On Internet of Things: Smart Innovation and Usages (IoT-SIU), 2018
Power quality has been main issue among the consumers nowadays. The consumer devices are based on power electronics devices for better efficiency which tend to introduce various current harmonics in our power system at the point of common coupling. With the accession of renewable energy sources as the better and environment friendly alternative to meet

Power factor correction based on diode clamped rectifier

International Journal of Electronics, 2001
Multilevel converters are recent alternative ways of implementing high power medium voltage applications compared with two-level converters. This paper presents a three-level pulse-width modulation scheme based on the diode clamped rectifier for power factor correction. Eight power switches are employed in the adopted switching mode rectifier.

Voltage-balancing strategies for diode-clamped multilevel converters

2004 IEEE 35th Annual Power Electronics Specialists Conference (IEEE Cat. No.04CH37551), 2004
This paper explores space-vector modulation strategies for diode-clamped multilevel converters. The analysis is focused on the voltage-balancing issue, since this is a very difficult task in high-order multilevel converters. Two strategies for selecting redundant vectors in the space-vector diagram are explained; both of them are based on minimizing a ...

Diode Clamped Three Level Inverter Using Sinusoidal PWM

2012 International Conference on Communication Systems and Network Technologies, 2012
An inverter is a circuit which converts dc power into ac power at desired output voltage and frequency. The a.c. output voltage can be fixed at a fixed or variable frequency. This conversion can be achieved by controlled turn ON & turn OFF or by forced commutated thyristors depending on applications.

Fundamentals of a new diode clamping multilevel inverter

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2000
The conventional diode clamping inverter suffers from such problems as DC link unbalance, indirect clamping of the inner devices, turn-on snubbing of the inner DC rails as well as series association of the clamping diodes etc. It is due largely to these problems that the application of the conventional diode clamping inverter in practice has been ...
