Structural characterization of the leukemia drug target ABL kinase and unfolded polypeptides by novel solution NMR techniques [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Novel weak alignment techniques and new biochemical strategies like selective isotope labeling in combination with other high-resolution solution NMR methods have been applied to characterize folded and unfolded polypeptides.

Field-Induced Magnon Decays in Dipolar Quantum Magnets

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters
We investigate the spontaneous disintegration of magnons in two-dimensional ferromagnets and antiferromagnets dominated by long-range dipolar interactions. Analyzing kinematic constraints, we show that the unusual dispersion of dipolar ferromagnets in a uniform magnetic field precludes magnon-decay at all fields, in sharp contrast to short-range ...

2D Co‐Mo‐Hydroxide‐Based Multifunctional Material for the Development of H2‐Based Clean Energy Technologies

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
2D α‐Co(OH)2 interleaved with Mo species displays an appealing dual functionality for the production and use of green hydrogen.Mo incorporation greatly benefits the electrochemical behaviour in Oxygen Evolution Reaction for H2 production, while the magnetocaloric response at liquid H2 temperature paves the way for alternative cryogenic refrigerants ...

Coupled states of electromagnetic fields with magnetic-dipolar-mode vortices: Magnetic-dipolar-mode vortex polaritons [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review A, 2011
A coupled state of an electromagnetic field with an electric or magnetic dipole-carrying excitation is well known as a polariton. Such a state is the result of the mixing of a photon with the excitation of a material. The most discussed types of polaritons are phonon polaritons, exciton polaritons, and surface-plasmon polaritons. Recently, it was shown

Room‐Temperature Skyrmionic Synapse in 2D Ferromagnet Fe3GaTe2 Operating via Collective Spin Texture Transformation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We demonstrate a neuromorphic synapse in 2D Fe3GaTe2 flakes. The device operates via a current‐driven transformation from a skyrmion‐lattice to a stripe‐domain state, yielding a linear anomalous Hall resistance response with a tunable slope to enable multiply‐accumulate operations. Simulations confirm its viability in artificial neural networks.

Sensitivity analysis of the lithospheric magnetic field at satellite altitude: the effects of the inducing field and the shape of the magnetic lithosphere

open access: yesEarth and Planetary Physics
As a means of quantitative interpretation, forward calculations of the global lithospheric magnetic field in the Spherical Harmonic (SH) domain have been widely used to reveal geophysical, lithological, and geothermal variations in the lithosphere ...

Mercury’s anomalous magnetic field caused by a symmetry-breaking self-regulating dynamo

open access: yesNature Communications, 2019
A new regime of planetary magnetic fields was revealed through the MESSENGER spacecraft mission to Mercury. Here, the authors present a numerical dynamo model that can re-produce both the axisymmetric and anomalously axially offset dipolar magnetic field

Monitoring the plasmapause using geomagnetic field line resonances [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
This paper discusses the use of ground magnetometer data to derive plasma mass density profiles of the dayside plasmapause region with spatial and temporal resolution in the range 0.15-0.4 R-E and 20-60 min.
