Clustomesogen Showing Sub‐Zero Liquid Crystal Properties: Supramolecular Assembly Between Cs2[Mo6Ii8(OCOC2F5)6] and Hexaethylenoxide Containing Mesogenic Dimers

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Associating a red‐NIR phosphorescent octahedral hexanuclear molybdenum cluster compound with hexaethyleneoxide chains bearing mesogenic units on both ends leads to an emissive hybrid liquid crystal showing mesomorphism on a very unusual temperature range down to −25°C.

Resonant Domain Wall Dynamics in a Three‐Dimensional Magnetic Nano Double Helix

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
3D magnetic nanostructures promise exciting possibilities for magnetization dynamics. However, experimental realizations remain scarce. In nanoprinted cobalt double helices, time‐resolved X‐ray microscopy reveals harmonic domain wall dynamics. Simulations identify the mode and additional higher‐frequency resonances, revealing a rich dynamic landscape ...

Bounce-averaged Fokker-Planck diffusion equation in non-dipolar magnetic fields with applications to the Dungey magnetosphere [PDF]

open access: yesAnnales Geophysicae, 2012
We perform a detailed derivation of the bounce-averaged relativistic Fokker-Planck diffusion equation applicable to arbitrary magnetic field at a constant Roederer L. The form of the bounce-averaged diffusion equation is found regardless of details of

Study of biopolymer encapsulated Eu doped Fe3O4 nanoparticles for magnetic hyperthermia application

open access: yesScientific Reports
An exciting prospect in the field of magnetic fluid hyperthermia (MFH) has been the integration of noble rare earth elements (Eu) with biopolymers (chitosan/dextran) that have optimum structures to tune specific effects on magnetic nanoparticles (NPs ...

Large sub-Kelvin magnetocaloric effect and phase behavior of gadolinium nitrate hexahydrate [PDF]

open access: yesAPL Materials
We report a comprehensive magnetothermal study of the classical gadolinium salt [Gd(NO3)3] · 6H2O at temperatures approaching absolute zero. Despite its long-standing availability as a commercial compound, its magnetocaloric properties have remained ...

Overflow of a dipolar exciton trap at high magnetic fields [PDF]

open access: yesSuperlattices and Microstructures, 2017
We study laterally trapped dipolar exciton ensembles in coupled GaAs quantum wells at high magnetic fields in the Faraday configuration. In photoluminescence experiments, we identify three magnetic field regimes. At low fields, the exciton density is increased by a reduced charge carrier escape from the trap, and additionally, the excitons' emission ...

Effect of particle dipolar interactions on the viscoelastic response of dilute ferrofluids undergoing oscillatory shear

open access: yes, 2021
In this work, we investigate the viscoelastic behavior of a ferrofluid undergoing an oscillatory simple shear flow and also under the influence of an external magnetic field.

Conductive Hydrogels for Exogenous Sensing and Cell Fate Control

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We engineer electrically conductive hydrogels by combining sulfated glycosaminoglycans with semiconducting polymers. These hydrogels bind bioactive proteins, including growth factors, whose release or retention can be modulated by low‐voltage stimulation. The hydrogels are also integrated as 3D channels in organic electrochemical transistors as part of
