Dipole-Dipole Interactions Between Neutrons [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
In this work we present results of the dipole-dipole interactions between two neutrons, a neutron and a conducting wall, and a neutron between two walls. As input, we use dynamical electromagnetic dipole polarizabilities fitted to chiral EFT results up to the pion production threshold and at the onset of the Delta resonance. Our work can be relevant to

Dipole-dipole interactions through a lens

open access: yesPhysical Review A, 2022
We study the fluctuation-mediated interactions between two atoms in the presence of an aplanatic lens, demonstrating an enhancement in their resonant dipole-dipole interaction. We derive the field propagation of the linear optical system in terms of the electromagnetic Green's tensor for an aplanatic lens.

Dipole–dipole interaction in random electromagnetic fields [PDF]

open access: yesOptics Letters, 2013
We demonstrate that a non-vanishing interaction force exists between pairs of induced dipoles in random, statistically stationary electromagnetic field. This new type of optical binding force leads to long-range interaction between dipolar particles even when placed in spatially incoherent fields.

Dipole–Dipole Interactions of Charged-Magnetic Grains [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Plasma Science, 2010
The interaction between dust grains is an important process in fields as diverse as planetesimal formation or the plasma processing of silicon wafers into computer chips. This interaction depends in large part on the material properties of the grains, for example whether the grains are conducting, non-conducting, ferrous or non-ferrous.

Dipole–dipole interaction in superparamagnetic nanocrystalline Fe63.5Cr10Si13.5B9Cu1Nb3 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Cr-substituted Finemet-type nanocrystalline alloy (Fe63.5Cr10Si13.5B9Cu1Nb3) has been studied by differential scanning calorimetry, x-ray diffraction, Mo¨ssbauer spectroscopy, and magnetic measurements.

Intermolecular Interactions: Dipole–Dipole, Dipole–Induced Dipole, and London Dispersion Forces [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Chemical Education, 2009
This Mathcad document introduces students to simple potential functions, which allows them to compare and contrast various intermolecular interactions. In particular, dipole–dipole interactions, dipole–induced dipole interactions, and London dispersion interactions are explored.

Dipole–Dipole Interactions in Microtubules [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Biological Physics, 2005
Dimers in microtubules possess a dipole moment with components along three axes. The interaction energy among all dipole components in a microtubule was calculated for an un-deformed and an elliptically deformed microtubule in a "dry" condition. The interaction energy was found to increase with deformation.

Coherent manipulation of two dipole—dipole interacting ions [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Modern Optics, 2000
We investigate to what extent two trapped ions can be manipulated coherently when their coupling is mediated by a dipole-dipole interaction. We will show how the resulting level shift induced by this interaction can be used to create entanglement, while the decay of the states remains nearly negligible.
