Importin 7 mediates the nuclear import of HIV‐1 integrase via a specific interacting interface
HIV‐1 integrase enables viral DNA integration into the host genome. By binding to the core domain of the host protein Importin 7 via its C‐terminal domain, the integrase is transported across the nuclear membrane into the nucleus, where integration of the viral genome into host DNA takes place. This translocation is a critical step for subsequent viral

Numerical Study of a Swirled-Type Injector for Direct-Injection Hydrogen Engines
The use of hydrogen direct injection (DI) plays a crucial role in decarbonizing internal combustion engine (ICE) technology. However, a suitable characterization of the injection process is required to control the mixture preparation before combustion ...

Delivery of DNA‐encoded vaccines and proteins in mice using cutaneous suction‐mediated transfection
Cutaneous suction‐mediated transfection in mice for delivery of DNA‐encoded vaccines and proteins. A critical limitation of DNA vaccines and other therapeutics is transfection in vivo to produce the encoded antigens or therapeutic proteins. Cutaneous suction‐based methods have demonstrated effectiveness in many animal models and have been successfully ...

We report the first β‐glucosidase with demonstrated hydrolytic activity on an N‐linked glycopyranoside. The enzyme, native to maize, was biochemically characterised for this novel reaction, and structural modelling of the enzyme–substrate complex revealed several clues to the underlying reduced catalytic rate relative to its native O‐glycopyranoside ...

Biophysical characterisation shows that NanX, a membrane transport protein from the major facilitator superfamily (MFS), forms both monomers and dimers after purification. AlphaFold modelling and substrate docking provide information on residues likely involved in substrate recognition for NanX and another MFS member, NanT.

We describe detailed protocols for the purification and preparation of Marchantia polymorpha Auxin Response Factor 2 (MpARF2). This protein is fused to an MBP solubility tag and an mNG fluorescent tag and is purified from Escherichia coli. The presented procedures make it possible to study MpARF2 assemblies, which could arise from phase separation ...

Exhaust Emissions from a Direct Injection Spark-Ignition Engine Fueled with High-Ethanol Gasoline
Ethyl alcohol is a known additive to automotive gasoline. In commercially available gasolines, its concentration is between 5 and 10%. Since ethyl alcohol can be considered as a renewable fuel, efforts are being made to further increase its content in ...

Protocol for quantifying miRNA trafficking across the endosomal membrane
An in vitro protocol measures miRNA uptake into endosomes isolated from mammalian cell extracts, which are free of subcellular contaminants. Performed at 37 °C in the presence of ATP, it ensures the import of single‐stranded miRNA into the endosomal lumen.
