Type I interferons modulate autophagy to shape gemcitabine response in pancreatic cancer cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Type I interferons differentially modulate autophagy and the response of pancreatic cancer cells to gemcitabine. IFNα2b stimulates autophagic flux and protects cells from gemcitabine‐induced cell death, contributing to chemoresistance. In contrast, IFNβ1a inhibits autophagosome formation and enhances gemcitabine‐induced cell death, resulting in ...

Aircraft maneuverability improvement by direct lift control system application

Aerospace Science and Technology, 2005
Abstract The handling qualities of an aircraft will be improved if the Direct Lift Control (DLC) system is applied. In this paper, an attempt has been made to evaluate the influence of DLC-type system parameters on the aircraft's maneuverability and to determine the desired values of these parameters for the purpose of obtaining required values of ...

Lifted implicit integrators for direct optimal control

2015 54th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (CDC), 2015
Nonlinear Model Predictive Control (NMPC) relies on solving an Optimal Control Problem (OCP) online at every sampling time. The discretization of the continuous time dynamics requires the deployment of some numerical integration method. To that end, implicit integrators are often preferred when stiff or implicitly defined dynamics are present in the ...

Direct lift control for approach and landing.

Journal of Aircraft, 1969
Direct Lift Controllers for three large aircraft are designed by a computer program based on Kalman's linear state regulator theory. Demonstrated are controllers that maintain any desired pitch attitude, use feedbacks to a single control surface to eliminate response lag and reduce pitch rate overshoot while allowing conventional pitch attitude changes.

Computerized design of optimal direct lift controller.

Journal of Aircraft, 1969
A direct lift controller (DLG) for large aircraft is designed using Kalman's linear state regulator theory. This application concerns a B-52 test aircraft, but the design method is directly applicable to other aircraft and aerodynamic surfaces. Spoilers, symmetric ailerons, and elevator form the three-dimensional primary flight controller which ...

Lifted collocation integrators for direct optimal control in ACADO toolkit

Mathematical Programming Computation, 2017
The article is a valuable contribution to the direct collocation approach. The authors investigate a a class of efficient Newton-type algorithms for solving the nonlinear programs. They consider an implicit lifting technique including a condensing and expansion step in which the structure of each subproblem corresponds to that of multiple shooting ...
