Predicting Drag-Reducing Wall Turbulence of Surfactant Solution by Direct Numerical Simulation
We performed direct numerical simulations (DNS) of turbulent channel flow of surfactant solution to investigate characteristics of modulated wall turbulence and turbulent drag reduction.

Advanced in turbulence physics and modeling by direct numerical simulations [PDF]
The advent of direct numerical simulations of turbulence has opened avenues for research on turbulence physics and turbulence modeling. Direct numerical simulation provides values for anything that the scientist or modeler would like to know about the ...

Direct numerical simulation and large-eddy simulation of stationary buoyancy-driven turbulence [PDF]
We report direct numerical simulation (DNS) and large-eddy simulation (LES) of statistically stationary buoyancy-driven turbulent mixing of an active scalar. We use an adaptation of the fringe-region technique, which continually supplies the flow with

A low-cost parallel implementation of direct numerical simulation of wall turbulence
A numerical method for the direct numerical simulation of incompressible wall turbulence in rectangular and cylindrical geometries is presented. The distinctive feature resides in its design being targeted towards an efficient distributed-memory parallel

Diffusion‐Weighted Imaging for the Evaluation of the Sacroiliac Joint in Pediatric Patients
Objective Maturational signal in the sacroiliac joint (SIJ) of skeletally immature youth is often misinterpreted as inflammation. Diagnostic tools that improve specificity are greatly needed. Apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values from diffusion‐weighted imaging (DWI), when used with standard imaging, may enhance diagnostic accuracy.

The computational complexity of traditional Lattice-Boltzmann methods for incompressible fluids
It is well-known that in fluid dynamics an alternative to customary direct solution methods (based on the discretization of the fluid fields) is provided by so-called \emph{particle simulation methods}.
