One-kilobase direct repeats of plasmid pSa

Plasmid, 1985
One-kilobase, direct repeats were found on either side of the chloramphenicol resistance gene of plasmid pSa. The right repeat corresponded to the region coding for sulfanilamide resistance. The repeats were not identical as judged by distances between restriction enzyme sites, hybridization, and by the ability to confer resistance to sulfanilamide.

Inverted repeats direct repair of adenovirus minichromosome ends

Virology, 1991
Adenovirus DNA initiates strand-displacement replication from origins located in identical inverted terminal repetitions (ITRs). Panhandle structures, formed by base pairing between ITRs on the displaced strands, have been proposed as replication intermediates for complementary strand synthesis.

Recombination between short direct repeats in a RecA host

Molecular and General Genetics MGG, 1982
Spontaneous deletion derivatives of plasmid pHV14, a recombinant of pBR322, have been isolated in the recA strain HB101. About 2.5 kilobases (Kb) of DNA has been lost in each of the four plasmids described including, in two cases the region involved in control of copy number and the initiation of replication. Sequence analysis of each deletion junction

A derivative of Tn5 with direct terminal repeats can transpose

Journal of Molecular Biology, 1982
Abstract The 5.7 kb ยง transposable kanamycin resistance determinant Tn5 contains 1.5 kb terminal inverted repeats which we here call arms. Tn5's arms contain the genes and sites necessary for Tn5 transposition, and are not homologous to previously described transposable elements. To determine whether one or both arms is a transposable (IS) element,

Using the Repeater Directive

2018
In this chapter, I continue to describe the built-in Vue.js directives and focus on the v-for directive, which is commonly used to populate lists and generate rows for tables and grid layouts. Table 13-1 puts the v-for directive in context.

Direct and repeated bifurcation into turbulence

1980
This lecture is a review of the applications of the theory of bifurcation to the problem of transition to turbulence. Most of the material in this lecture can be found in detail in my recent review [ll], in other reviews in the same volume and in the monographs [12].

Repeated Direct-Current Countershock Without Myocardial Injury

JAMA, 1964
THE EFFECTIVENESS of direct-current (DC) countershock in the treatment of arrhythmias that are refractory to drug therapy has been established, 1 but the safety of the procedure is still questioned. Electric burns, myocardial injury, and asystole are feared complications.

Transcription Directed by the HIV Long Terminal Repeat In Vitro

AIDS Research and Human Retroviruses, 1987
The long terminal repeat (LTR) of the AIDS virus (HIV) has been found to contain promoter sequences that are active in uninfected HeLa whole cell and nuclear extracts. Here we report that elements upstream of position -104 (start site +1) do not affect transcriptional activity in vitro whereas sequences between -104 and -57 are required for such ...

The statistical analysis of direct repeats in nucleic acid sequences

Journal of Applied Probability, 1985
Sequence symmetries in DNA and RNA are being discovered at an increasing rate. Conjectures and hypotheses are being proposed for their possible structural and functional role in the nucleic acid. In this paper a probability model is studied which evaluates the probabilities of various repeats occurring by chance alone.
