Clinical and Biological Features of Response in Resistant Neuroblastoma to 131I‐Metaiodobenzylguanidine Radiotherapy in the Anti‐GD2 Immunotherapy Era

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background 131I‐metaiodobenzylguanidine (131I‐MIBG) radiotherapy is a key treatment for relapsed and refractory (R/R) neuroblastoma (NB). Patients with R/R disease treated in the modern era are increasingly exposed to anti‐GD2 immunotherapy, which exerts selective pressure and may modify both tumor cell state and microenvironment.

Hospitalization Through Families’ Eyes: Comparing Inpatient Care Quality for Children With Sickle Cell Disease and Cystic Fibrosis in Canada

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Sickle cell disease (SCD) is a chronic, inherited hemoglobinopathy that requires frequent hospitalization for disease‐related complications. Canadian data on inpatient care is limited. This study compared caregiver‐reported hospital experiences of children with SCD to those with cystic fibrosis (CF), a chronic, autosomal recessive ...

Venous Thromboembolism in Pediatric Bone Sarcoma Patients: A 10‐Year, Single‐Institution Experience Encompassing the COVID‐19 Pandemic

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Osteosarcoma (OS) and Ewing sarcoma (EWS) are the most common primary bone cancers in children, but acute thrombosis is poorly characterized in this population. Our study evaluated the rates of venous thromboembolism (VTE) and associated risk factors in pediatric patients with bone sarcomas treated over a 10‐year period encompassing

C3-Alkylation of furfural derivatives by continuous flow homogeneous catalysis

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2023
The C3-functionalization of furfural using homogeneous ruthenium catalysts requires the preinstallation of an ortho-directing imine group, as well as high temperatures, which did not allow scaling up, at least under batch conditions. In order to design a

Serological Benefit of SARS‐CoV‐2 Vaccination Relative to Infection in Children With Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) are at risk of severe outcomes from SARS‐CoV‐2 (SCV2). In the post‐pandemic context, where most children have been infected with SCV2, there are limited data on whether vaccination remains beneficial in children with ALL.

Indole as a Directing Group for Nonaromatic C–H Activation in Palladium‐Catalyzed Cross‐Dehydrogenative Coupling With β‐Ketoesters

open access: yesChemistryEurope
The selective activation of aliphatic C–H bonds remains a fundamental challenge in synthetic chemistry. Here we disclose a palladium‐catalyzed cross‐dehydrogenative coupling (CDC) that joins the α‐carbon of β‐ketoesters with the C3‐benzylic position of ...

Sigma invariants of direct products of groups

open access: yesGroups, Geometry, and Dynamics, 2010
The Product Conjecture for the homological Bieri–Neumann–Strebel–Renz invariants is proved over a field. Under certain hypotheses the Product Conjecture is shown to also hold over ℤ , even though D. Schütz has recently shown that the Conjecture is false in general over

Synthesis of Naphthols by Rh(III)-Catalyzed Domino C-H Activation, Annulation, and Lactonization Using Sulfoxonium Ylide as a Traceless Directing Group.

open access: yesOrganic Letters, 2019
Sulfoxonium ylide directed C-H activation catalyzed by the Rh(III)-catalyst has been disclosed. In this study, sulfoxonium ylide functions as a traceless directing group, which reacts with an unsymmetrical alkyne, 4-hydroxy-2-alkynoate, to form the ...

Deep Sequencing of FLT3‐ITD Enables Response Evaluation and Post‐Treatment Monitoring in Childhood AML: An Exploratory Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background An internal tandem duplication in the gene encoding Fms‐like tyrosine kinase 3 (FLT3‐ITD) is associated with high relapse risk and poor prognosis in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and plays a crucial role in treatment decisions. Measurable residual disease (MRD) analysis of FLT3‐ITD during and after treatment has shown prognostic ...

Directing the personal documentary: An intersex adventure

open access: yes, 2017
"I was meant to be famous by age 40. At least, that’s what a psychic told me when I was still a teenager. And who wouldn’t want to be famous, right?
