A truncated bivariate inverted Dirichlet distribution
A truncated version of the bivariate inverted dirichlet distribution is introduced. Unlike the inverted dirichlet distribution, this possesses finite moments of all orders and could therefore be a better model for certain practical situations.

Improving application performance with biased distributions of quantum states
We consider the properties of a specific distribution of mixed quantum states of arbitrary dimension that can be biased towards a specific mean purity. In particular, we analyze mixtures of Haar-random pure states with Dirichlet-distributed coefficients.

Implications of Spectral Interlacing for Quantum Graphs
Quantum graphs are ideally suited to studying the spectral statistics of chaotic systems. Depending on the boundary conditions at the vertices, there are Neumann and Dirichlet graphs.

Means of a Dirichlet process and multiple hypergeometric functions
The Lauricella theory of multiple hypergeometric functions is used to shed some light on certain distributional properties of the mean of a Dirichlet process. This approach leads to several results, which are illustrated here.

Cruising The Simplex: Hamiltonian Monte Carlo and the Dirichlet Distribution
Due to its constrained support, the Dirichlet distribution is uniquely suited to many applications. The constraints that make it powerful, however, can also hinder practical implementations, particularly those utilizing Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC ...

The application of Partial Membership Latent Dirichlet Allocation(PM-LDA) for hyperspectral endmember estimation and spectral unmixing is presented. PM-LDA provides a model for a hyperspectral image analysis that accounts for spectral variability and ...

Clustering in Additive Mixed Models with Approximate Dirichlet Process Mixtures using the EM Algorithm [PDF]
We consider additive mixed models for longitudinal data with a nonlinear time trend. As random effects distribution an approximate Dirichlet process mixture is proposed that is based on the truncated version of the stick breaking presentation of the ...
