Randomly Weighted Averages on Multivariate Dirichlet Distributions with Generalized Parameters

open access: yesRevstat Statistical Journal
We study the distributional properties of the product of random stochastic matrices by using the Dirichlet distribution. Our observations widely generalize some known results on the randomly weighted averages about multivariate Dirichlet ...

Joint weighted limit theorems for general dirichlet series

open access: yesMathematical Modelling and Analysis, 2011
In the paper, two joint weighted limit theorems in the sense of weak convergence of probability measures on the complex plane for general Dirichlet series are obtained.

Dirichlet Posterior Sampling with Truncated Multinomial Likelihoods [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We consider the problem of drawing samples from posterior distributions formed under a Dirichlet prior and a truncated multinomial likelihood, by which we mean a Multinomial likelihood function where we condition on one or more counts being zero a priori.

A stochastic diffusion process for Lochner's generalized Dirichlet distribution

open access: yes, 2013
The method of potential solutions of Fokker-Planck equations is used to develop a transport equation for the joint probability of N stochastic variables with Lochner's generalized Dirichlet distribution (R.H. Lochner, A Generalized Dirichlet Distribution

High‐Power Terahertz Emission from Picosecond Nano‐Plasma Switching Driven by Secondary Electron Emission Avalanche

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A nano‐plasma device enables watt‐level on‐chip THz generation through picosecond switching triggered by secondary electron emission avalanche. An ultra‐dense electron sheet initiates nano‐plasma formation within a ∼100 nm gap, driving rapid energy release into an integrated resonator.

Critical Quantum Chaos in 2D Disordered Systems with Spin-Orbit Coupling

open access: yes, 1999
We examine the validity of the recently proposed semi-Poisson level spacing distribution function P(S), which characterizes `critical quantum chaos', in 2D disordered systems with spin-orbit coupling.

Two Characterizations of the Dirichlet Distribution

open access: yesThe Annals of Statistics, 1973
Let $X = (X_1, \cdots, X_k)$ be a random vector with all $X_i \geqq 0$ and $\sum X_i \leqq 1$. Let $k \geqq 2$, and suppose that none of the $X_i$, nor $1 - \sum X_i$ vanishes almost surely. Without any further regularity assumptions, each of two conditions is shown to be necessary and sufficient for $X$ to be distributed according to a Dirichlet ...

Determinants of Knowledge and Usage of Generative Artificial Intelligence in Agricultural Extension: Evidence From Tennessee Extension Personnel

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper examines the determinants of generative AI (GenAI) knowledge and usage among agricultural extension professionals. Drawing on survey data from agricultural extension personnel in Tennessee, we employ regression analyses and latent Dirichlet allocation (LDA) for topic modeling of open‐ended responses to study the knowledge and usage ...

Large deviations associated with Poisson--Dirichlet distribution and Ewens sampling formula

open access: yes, 2007
Several results of large deviations are obtained for distributions that are associated with the Poisson--Dirichlet distribution and the Ewens sampling formula when the parameter $\theta$ approaches infinity.

CFD modeling and sensitivity‐guided design of silicon filament CVD reactors

open access: yesAIChE Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Filament‐based chemical vapor deposition (CVD) for silicon (Si) coatings is often treated as an adaptation of planar deposition. But this overlooks fundamental shifts in transport phenomena and reaction kinetics. In filament CVD, the filament acts as a substrate, heat source, and flow disruptor simultaneously. In this work, we ask: What really
