Whose identity politics? – Lessons for emerging critical disability geography in Hungary [PDF]

open access: yesGeographica Helvetica, 2013
In response to the economic crisis in 2009, the Hungarian government reduced the level of support for the employment of impaired people. The withdrawal of this state support has not only resulted in a massive wave of dismissals, but has also transformed ...

A State‐Adaptive Koopman Control Framework for Real‐Time Deformable Tool Manipulation in Robotic Environmental Swabbing

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This work presents a state‐adaptive Koopman linear quadratic regulator framework for real‐time manipulation of a deformable swab tool in robotic environmental sampling. By combining Koopman linearization, tactile sensing, and centroid‐based force regulation, the system maintains stable contact forces and high coverage across flat and inclined surfaces.

Disability, Queer Phenomenology, and the Politics of Personhood

open access: yesInterAlia, 2016
This paper explores Sara Ahmed’s Queer Phenomenology from a disability studies perspective. In addition to her emphasis on race and desire, I ask how we might use Ahmed’s queer, cultural phenomenology to ask about the sociomaterial basis of disablement ...

A Multidirectional Textile Interface for Remote Control Using Dynamic Area‐Based Capacitance Modulation

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Here, we present a textile, wearable capacitive interface enabling multidirectional remote control by dynamically modulating electrode overlap and spacing via a freely gliding upper electrode. A forearm‐mounted prototype drives robotic and media tasks with 12–15 ms latency, maintains < 0.8% drift after 500 cycles, and remains stably functional at 90 ...

Cross‐Scale Hierarchical Targeted Delivery System Based on Small‐Scale Magnetic Robots

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This article reviews a cross‐scale hierarchical targeted delivery system that integrates magnetic continuum robots and magnetic microrobots. By combining rapid long‐range navigation with precise microscale targeting, the system overcomes key limitations of single‐scale approaches.

Developing a taxonomy of the built environment for disability studies. Methodological insights.

open access: yesJournal of Accessibility and Design for All, 2017
For a city to be inclusive, its physical environment needs to be identified, characterized and assessed prior to transformations and improvements. Such identification is the first step to impact on politics for citizens with impairments and functional ...

Real‐Time Holographic Feedback via Mixed Reality Sensorized Laryngoscope Training System Enhances Pediatric Intubation Training

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
We proposed a Mixed Reality Sensorized Laryngoscope Training System to provide real‐time holographic torque feedback during pediatric endotracheal intubation simulation. Visualization formats are evaluated to reduce tracking error and visual demand.

Enjeu éthique d’une ontologie de la différence. La situation de handicap comme question sociale et politique

open access: yesFranciscanum, 2017
What is there to see in others? How to avoid sorters trends that lead us to include a fixed or negative identity; a fortiori when it is a disability? How to articulate, from an ethical point of view, the necessary diagnostic of others’ suffering with ...

Combating Inflammation and Promoting Anabolism in Osteoarthritic Cartilage Defect With an MMP13‐Sensing Dual‐Drug Scaffold

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Osteoarthritis (OA) is a widespread degenerative joint condition marked by progressive cartilage breakdown, and a chronic inflammatory microenvironment, where conventional therapies largely fail to halt disease progression. To address this unmet need, an intra‐articularly implantable, disease‐responsive scaffold was developed for combinatorial
