Rock Crushing Analysis of TBM Disc Cutter Assisted by Ultra-High-Frequency Loading

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2022
In the construction of mountain tunnels, the increasing proportion of hard rock stratum enhances the difficulty of rock breaking by tunnel boring machine (TBM). As a type of cyclic load with ultrahigh frequency, ultrasonic vibration has the advantages of

Comparative Study of the Rock-breaking Mechanism of a Disc Cutter and Wedge Tooth Cutter by Discrete Element Modelling

open access: yesChinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering, 2023
The operation of a shield tunnel boring machine (TBM) in a high-strength hard rock stratum results in significant cutter damage, adversely affecting the thrust and torque of the cutter head.

Wear Characteristics and Optimization Measures of Disc Cutters During Large-Diameter Slurry Tunnel Boring Machine Advancing in Soil-Rock Composite Strata: A Case Study

open access: yesLubricants
The large-diameter slurry tunnel boring machine (TBM) is widely used in the construction of tunnels across rivers and seas. However, cutter wear has become a critical issue that severely limits the tunnelling efficiency.

Disc-Cutter Wear of TBM at Hida Tunnel

open access: yesJournal of MMIJ, 2007
The main drive of Hida Tunnel for Tokai-Hokuriku Highway was excavated by a world-largest-class TBM with the diameter of 12.84 m. The TBM have bored over 3.0 km of the tunnel through Nouhi Rhyolite, Granite Porphyry and Hida Gneiss. The uniaxial compressive strength of these rocks was found to be extremely high.

Changes in Body Composition in Children and Young People Undergoing Treatment for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Ongoing evidence indicates increased risk of sarcopenic obesity among children and young people (CYP) with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), often beginning early in treatment, persisting into survivorship. This review evaluates current literature on body composition in CYP with ALL during and after treatment.

Development Process of Cutter Ring for Shield Machine/Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) Hob [PDF]

open access: yesTeshugang
The disc cutter is the key component of the shield machine, and it is also the most easily worn and failed component in the tunneling construction process. The wear of the disc cutter ring is mainly composed of three types of abrasive wear, adhesive wear

Prolonged Corrected QT Interval as an Early Electrocardiographic Marker of Cyclophosphamide‐Induced Cardiotoxicity in Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Patients

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Cyclophosphamide (CY) is associated with potentially fatal cardiotoxicity, yet no electrocardiographic indices have been established for early detection of CY‐induced cardiomyopathy. This study aimed to determine whether corrected QT interval (QTc) prolongation can predict early onset of CY‐related cardiac dysfunction in pediatric ...
