Rotational temperature measurements in hydrogen discharges

Vacuum, 1996
Abstract An electrodeless capacitive rf discharge operated at 13.56 MHz, which we used previously in diamond deposition experiments, was placed in a specially constructed furnace in order to control the temperature independently of rf power. Methane highly diluted in hydrogen as well as pure hydrogen were used as process gases. The emitted light from

Temperatures in a hollow-catmode discharge

Soviet Physics Journal, 1967
Rotational and vibrational temperatures of He, O2. and CO2have been examined in carbon and molybdenum cathodes as functions of pressure and discharge current. The rotational temperature is strongly dependent on the conditions. The rotational temperatures of CO+, N2+, C2, CN, and OH are identical in simultaneous measurements.

Temperature effects in glow-discharge tubes

Proceedings of the Institution of Electrical Engineers, 1969
Glow-discharge reference tubes with various cathode materials, but identical gas filling and pressure, operating in the normal-glow mode, show different temperature coefficients when operated under similar conditions. Measured temperature coefficients are compared with calculated values obtained from a knowledge of the running-voltage/current ...

Effect of Discharge Location on Temperature Distribution during Electrical Discharge Machining

International Journal of Smart Home, 2015
The temperature field distribution has a dominant influence on machining efficiency and surface quality during electrical discharge machining (EDM). The discharge location is strongly related to temperature field distribution. Thus, the effect of discharge location on temperature distribution during EDM process should be illustrated to understand the ...

Electrode temperature measurement of low temperature gliding arc discharge device

2017 International Conference on Electromagnetic Devices and Processes in Environment Protection with Seminar Applications of Superconductors (ELMECO & AoS), 2017
Gliding arc discharge has been widely used in various applications. However, both the gas temperature and the electrode temperature rapidly increase. Therefore, an apparatus was fabricated considering that the effective heat transfer from the electrode to the gas which could suppress the temperature increase of the electrode by raising the forced ...

Automatic Discharge Temperature Control based on ensory Temperature for Automobiles

2018 3rd IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Transportation Engineering (ICITE), 2018
The temperature control of the existing fatc is affected by the set temperature, the internal temperature, the ambient temperature, and the solar radiation without considering the driver's condition. Therefore, depending on the driver's feeling, the same temperature may feel cold or hot.

High-Temperature Discharges in Ferroelectric Ceramics

Journal of Applied Physics, 1960
Ceramic disks of barium titanate and lead zirconate titanate, when heated above 100°C, exhibit current discharges which cannot be attributed to the ferroelectric polarization of the material. These discharges are largest in the temperature interval 300°–600°C and depend primarily on the electrode material and its method of application.

Local temperature response to pulsed discharges in electronic discharge machining (EDM) environment

IEEE Transactions on Plasma Science, 2005
We report on local temperature measurements performed during single discharges in electronic discharge machining (EDM) environment. Measurements have been performed with two different setups. One being a thermal device consisting of 14 thin film Au-Pd thermocouples.
