Excitation Temperatures in the Hollow Cathode Discharge
Applied Spectroscopy, 1981Excitation or spectroscopic temperatures have been determined for various operating conditions of a hollow cathode discharge. It was found that the temperatures measured do not significantly change over the range of conditions studied. These results are compared to those obtained in other low-pressure discharges.

Spectroscopic temperature measurements in a microwave discharge
Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics, 1996We report temperature measurements in a low-pressure hydrogen microwave plasma. Translational temperatures both of H and of (using Doppler broadening), as well as the rotational temperature of , are simultaneously determined. It is first shown that the rotational temperature of the excited state is not in equilibrium with the translational ...

TEMPERATURE DISTRIBUTION DURING ELECTRO-DISCHARGE ABRASIVE GRINDING
Machining Science and Technology, 2002The objective of this work is to develop a finite element method (FEM) based mathematical model to simulate the hybrid machining process of grinding and electric discharge machining (EDM), named as Electro-discharge abrasive grinding (EDAG), for temperature distribution in the workpiece.

Low-temperature electrical discharge through solid xenon
Low Temperature Physics, 2008A uniform self-sustained electrical discharge through solid xenon is realized and studied. The multiplication of electrons proceeds in the noble gas above the xenon crystal interface, whereas a positive feedback is realized on account of multiple exciton formation by excess electrons drifting through the crystal: molecular excitons emit VUV photons ...

High-Temperature Dielectric Materials for Electrical Energy Storage
Annual review of materials research (Print), 2018The demand for high-temperature dielectric materials arises from numerous emerging applications such as electric vehicles, wind generators, solar converters, aerospace power conditioning, and downhole oil and gas explorations, in which the power systems ...

Two-Temperature Simulation of Subatmospheric Arc Discharge
2019 IEEE Pulsed Power & Plasma Science (PPPS), 2019A two temperature model was used to simulate the arc discharge process used for synthesizing nanoparticles. A 60 A arc between graphite electrodes placed inside a sub atmospheric chamber was simulated. Helium was used as the background gas and the chamber pressure was 10 Torr.

Neuro-models for discharge air temperature system
Energy Conversion and Management, 2004Nonlinear neuro-models for a discharge air temperature (DAT) system are developed. Experimental data gathered in a heating ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) test facility is used to develop multi-input multi-output (MIMO) and single-input single-output (SISO) neruo-models. Several different network architectures were explored to build the models.

Vibrational temperatures of pulse-excited torch discharge
Czechoslovak Journal of Physics, 1965At the beginning of the exciting period in a pulse-excited torch discharge only a high-frequency corona is formed and this slowly changes a torch discharge. The vibrational temperatures determined from two different sequences of vibration bands of the 2-positive group N2 differ from one another up to the time when the torch discharge forms its own ...
